i'm just glad Darko doesn't have to defer to him anymore. We need more minutes for our young guys.

Yes, this is pretty much it. I think he was an admirable fill in for Fred but did nothing to escape the team's fate. They pretty much did a deal to get money back from what they would have paid him next year.

They were just lucky that the Nets hated Dinwiddie who refused to shoot in his last month. Dennis is a welcome replacement and will help them. Rare deal where no picks were added either way.

I was not a fan of the deal but with Poeltl they were like 15-12. It was a decent team and far from a lottery team.

They were the 10th seed before and the 9th seed after. They were literally in the draft lottery and will be again. It's a matter of fact, not opinion.

That’s a weird way of looking at it. The NBA trade deadline is in the 2nd week of February. There are only about two months left in the season. You’re not going to have drastic changes in the standings at that point. The reality is we were a much better team with Poeltl. Over a course of a season with that same team we would not be in the lottery.

That's the whole point, brother. They were a lottery team before they traded for Poeltl and a lottery team after. They were in the draft lottery, they're a lottery team by definition - there's no room for subjective assessment here.

What they would or wouldn't have done with him the whole season is irrelevant, it never happened.

But they were trying to trade Siakam before and after they signed Schroder. Why are they trying to sign Olynyk long-term at 33? Bobby's lying his *** off here

There's a much bigger glut at g/w than at C though. Other than Poeltl, they really don't have another reliable bigman now that Boucher isn't in the rotation.

There's no other PG on the roster, though. It's the same argument.

They have a lot of ballhandlers though.

I swear that shortly after the signing, our FO intimated that he was NOT plan B and they were signing him anyway.

He was definitely 'plan B' but the lie is that they were catering to "Siakam and OG's timeline." Masai was literally not talking to him so that he didn't have to have the awkward 'we're trying to trade you' talk, while failing to trade him at multiple points before and after the draft.

Pascal got traded for 3 picks and bruce brown bro. They say it's one of the strongest late draft in recent years. And Bruce's value will be highest on draft night because who wouldn't want to pay a top 10 championship caliber guard 20 mil dollars?

In terms of value It might as well be:

Brown/Delano/Flynn/Boucher

we got our 8th to 12th man set.

the irony of the thread is that schroder's first game with the nets was a blowout win with him putting up 15/12. trent last 3 games 28 mpg 22% shooting 6 ppg

dude cannot make a layup within 5 feet proximity to a defender. If ANYONE is closeby he's **** up the fastbreak.

Dinwiddie had a solid game for the Lakers off the bench. Great on Masai to help other franchises lol.

Incoherently throwing everything at the wall and hope something sticks. Masai has turned into BC 2.0
