Biyombo would ultimately be the high risk/reward as you can get. Question is does BC have the balls.

We're taking Kemba Walker. I'm feeling 100% certain.

He wasn't on my radar at all, but..........I have no idea anymore....

3rd would have likely been a bit of a reach for him, but 5th is certainly reasonable to take him

if biyombo is really 18 his upside is tremendous.

agreed, hopefully they are able to follow through on those Spanish medical records for the x-ray for some closure. I actually think he's 18-19, but since the doubts have been cast (I think in an attempt to bring his stock down) it would be nice to get a definitive answer one way or another.

If you want a raw african player just make a trade for Thabeet.

thabeet is just long and big, no motor, slow off his feet...this guy can actually move, get up fast for blocks and doesnt look awkward on the court

^^ Thabeet is nowhere near as quick or athletic as this guy, and was essentially a giant playing against midgets at UCONN. Biyombo has proven that he can be a real defensive force in the ACB. And, assuming that his age is correct, he's 4 years younger than Thabeet was when he was drafted. At C, Biyombo is going to be one of the quickest, most athletic players at his position. I think he really has the potential to be like a Joakim Noah or Tyson Chandler defensively (and he's actually longer, weighs 20lbs more than both of them when they were drafted, and has a bigger standing reach than both of them).

The only problem with Biyombo is that he'll more than likely end up being a power forward in the NBA. Sure you could try him out at centre but if that doesn't work you're stuck trying to rotate Amir, Ed and Bismack.

How many power forwards do you want?

If Im not mistaken, DeRozan is the only wing we've drafted since Kareem Rush.

Yeah......Bismack is an athletic freak at his size & he has a great motor.

There are absolutely no concerns about his size or athleticism.

Can he play basketball? Is he coachable? Does he have the drive to become successful? Those are the big questions.

The one thing that is different about Bismack from other African prospects is that he comes from money. Some of these guys come from poorer African backgrounds & are just happy to be here.....making an NBA contract. Bismack comes from a family that has expectations.

And we haven't drafted a PG (in the 1st rd, does Roko really count?) since Damon... Wow,

If Biyombo is gonna be a Power Forward I'm not even gonna give him a second look. If he's a Centre he has a shot though.

Alec Burks is the guy I'd want if we got screwed normally, but with DeMar he just creates a glut. Ain't this some bulls**t....

I honestly don't understand how anyone could be that high on knight, he hasn't shown much that could translate to the nba.

Best player in Florida. Sought after by many many big programs... just 18 years old. Has length and a killer shot. Could be an incredible pick up for us. I would argue he is the pick for us at 3 at 4 and at 5.

It's not the end of the world. I'm not sold on Irving being that great a player. I don't think he will be a bust but I don't think he will get close to being the next Chris Paul. I think he's being overrated because the draft class is so poor as he is still very unproven. This really is a piss poor draft from top to bottom. I remember when we won the lottery and ESPN was asking BC if he was gonna draft Adam Morrison because he was being touted then as the next big star. I don't think that Irving will be the close to the bust that Morrison was but when the hype machine starts it really clouds people's judegements. I'm always wary of picks that are compared to current stars as they always seem to disappoint.

If we got the #1 pick, Irving would probably have enough of a impact where we get 5 to 10 more wins in part because BC would think he has the next Chris Paul and start overhauling the roster yet again to try and sneak us into the playoffs.

Next year's draft looks to be so much better and any of the top 3 picks will be better than Irving. We will be in the bottom 3 yet again (rather than the bottom 10 with Irving on our team) just because we have little talent and yeah it could blow up in our face again but if I was given a choice I would rather have #5 this year and a # 3 pick (maybe higher) next year than having Irving or Williams this year and getting a # 8 or #9 next year. Call me overly optimistic but I wasn't that bothered with getting #5 tonite.

We've drafted so many bigs over the years it seems, that I'm looking for a small or wing this time.

Bradley, Alexander R., Araujo, some good ones like Bosh, Davis, Bargnani, Camby, traded 5 for Davis, 17 for O'Neal, etc.

Only guards/wings I remember us ever drafting are Stoudamire, DeRozan, McGrady, Carter, Jeffries, Rush, and Peterson...traded a pick for Lamond Murray.

Even though I've been saying Barnes and Jones needed another year at school, they would have been good at our position.
