- Raptors RealGM Forum re: Masai Ujiri - June 2023What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

If it's available, it will probably come with top 2-3 protections at least.
They won't risk the chance to get Scoot or Wemby.
In fact, any picks we get this year will probably have those same protections if the pick has any chance at the lottery.

Now that Windhorst has laid down some terms, you can see that the Raptors are in a semi-retool. Losing Fred and OG is huge, but the impression is we are getting young players that can step in, rather than a bunch of picks.
It also could mean that Toronto is going to have space to re-sign Trent Jr., which makes sense to me given his age and if they can keep him under $25m per season, it will be a win.
It is building around Barnes and Siakam. To me that requires shooting, and a PG or maybe two ball handlers who can draw fouls. I can see this team ride things out with Precious and Koloko - although I don't feel tied to CK.

This is why I'd rather the FO focus on the later Bucks picks in a quantity with potentially higher value than the more certain now pick with no chance at the big prizes.

Sad day to be a Raptor fan ....Always loved OG and his personality....Tbh wouldn't mind just getting rid of all players connected to Klutch....They rub me the wrong way and always want their players in the most talked about teams in the media....

Do we really think that that Lakers are going to sit back at the trade deadline? They are going to be buyers and probably will deal another pick. Lebron will then recruit some players who get bought out. They will have a team that at least makes it to the play-in.
This makes the Lakers pick less valuable for NO

I like the idea of a player+pick deal. You get a little more certainty if you're getting a player like Dyson along with a pick instead of hoping that the multiple picks you get in the alternative deal don't all end up in the 20s.

This would be ideal. Unlikely, but so ideal.

He would bring in more than that.
