Obviously we'd love if the offense ran through him but that doesn't really matter because the experience he is getting going up against top quality players from around the world is invaluable.

Like Hank said, playing against team USA is a feat in itself.

These experiences can do wonders for players who are are still young and improving - just look at how Calderon played after the World Championships in 2006.

With as well as against.

LTU is ranked 5th in the world and essentially all of their main guys play on Euroleague clubs. And Kleiza plays a lot better in Fiba play then he does in the NBA. Still, that's some of the best players in the world... doesn't have to be with NBA all-stars. A lot of decent NBA players don't do as well in fiba play as you would expect and vice versa. Fiba is slightly a different game. If there's a 23 and under cap I think you'd see less US domination. Still its a 300M country against a 3M one. Jonas is playing with top tier guys.

I think losing would be good for Jonas. Dude has been a winner all his life. This experience should be a nice transition to all the pain and agony of a Raptor.

Slow day at work so I'm checking forums and stuff and guess what I've found on the other thread...

I am not watching the game but from comments it sounds like a repeat of the way he played in the qualifying tournament. Jonas in the qualifying tournament was the definition of "project center minutes", meaning a big body who struggled mentally due to "the game moving too fast for him", especially on the defensive end. LTU was throwing him minutes in those games in the same way a lottery team throws their top 10 pick C 15mpg and lets him struggle few development minutes and fouls, he is not someone positively impacting the game for them at all. Jonas right now is a body and not a natural basketball player. My comparison for his style of play is middling athleticism Javale McGee. He is quietly terrible defensively because of his poor instincts and reaction speeds on help defense

Who is this dude, why is he hatin so much as to go to great lengts to call dude a scrub without even watching a game? Geez...

Keys for JV in his first year as a Raptor will be getting a twitter account, playing in the Drew League and saying nice things about Canada.

 Never met a person that has so much indepth knowledge about something he has no clue about.

Mr Mufasa is going to ride this out for about 2 years, or at least as long as it takes Jonas to get settled into the NBA.

Every game played this upcoming season, were Val plays like a rookie, and gets into foul trouble, Mufasa will be standing on his milk crate, making long winded posts about how he saw all his flaws a mile away. When Val starts to play as expected, most likely his 3rd season, Mufasa, or whatever he calls himself by then, will hope that everyone forgot his silly analyses and absolute statements he made regarding Val.

But for now, he will make these ridiculous post, trying to sound like some advanced scout analyzing a player he has little to no knowledge about. Not saying Val will be an all-star, but I am not stupid enough to stand up and try and act like I absolutely know he will be a dud. I hate to diminish such an astute scout such as Mufasa, but I have read numerous posts by him were his ignorance shines through loud and clear.

Mufasa is doing some solid trolling lately.
