Why is the onus on the youngest player in the starting lineup and not the veterans, who should be bringing it every night?

We tanked an entire season for JV. Of course we have high expectations for him. You don't coddle high lottery picks.

It's not about coddling. It's about expecting things of him and not of others, and for giving others a pass for not delivering on things you should be expecting from them given their experience.

Why should the veterans be given a pass for not bringing energy/consistency every night? If you want to target Jonas for not doing the same, then you have to also include Lowry/DD/Amir in that criticism as well. Even more so, given they should know better.
