Maybe they want him to meet some players? Meet some board members?

They've probably decided on him. But he's coaching right now and won't be available to do a presser or media. If they've made up their mind and he's their guy they're not dragging their feet or any of the other nonsense that is being pumped online. They're just waiting to make it official when he's actually available to be public.

He DM'd Woj, Shams, Windy and another person. That's probably his league sources.

I don't see how it's not Sergio. Just waiting for his season to finish out of respect for that organization.

I feel like if it was someone else, they would of announced it already.

Would go exactly with what they've wanted to do since the trade deadline. Which is run it back. I don't agree with it, but it is what it is.

Add some guard depth with the pick and the mle and bank on that play-in experience and continuity to get us into the 1st round baby. Letsssssss goooooooooo!

I guess it could be Chris Quinn as well. But I feel like that would of leaked already.

Hiring Scariolo doesn't scream a run it back option to me. He's a proven coach who is known to maximize the most out of his roster. A lot that was missing from this team for development of younger players and he is the perfect blend of teaching and motivating that is needed in all scenarios, when you're rebuilding or you want to remain competitive.

I'm fully supportive of the hire because he's just a tremendous basketball mind.

Masai showing an increasing propensity to take too long and over analyse before making any moves is not a good sign. Especially when a number of his most recent moves have been questionable to terrible at best.

I'm good with the hire as well. I don't have any issues with it.

But I imagine there's a sense of familiarity with the players and expectations. I think if they were going in a different route, that maybe a younger coach would of gotten the chance.

I also don't pin the lack of development on Nurse. There really wasn't much there in terms of young talent.

It's been too quiet on the Jordi side of things. I'm starting to believe it's between Darko or Sergio. I know next to nothing about the league Sergio's currently coaching (but understand he's in finals), and all I know about Darko are the articles people have posted on here.

I have no preference anymore and would much rather "get this show on the road". The coach will likely be the first domino of many this offseason. We have so much reshuffling with the roster, coaching and finances on the horizon. It'll make for a very interesting offseason, for better or worse.

Was Quinn even interviewed?. Adelman was, right? And Jordi when Kings were still in playoffs.

He's in the playoff finals of the LBA, which is the top level Italian national league. Both of the team's in the finals, Virtus Bologna (Scariolo's team) and Olimpia Milan are EuroLeague (best league in Europe) teams. Milan's head coach is Ettore Messina, whom the Raptors supposedly previously considered as a coaching option. Both also have very large budgets, among the biggest in Europe.

Pretty sure he was. He would of been my first choice. I'm ok with the other candidates as well.

Patrick Mutombo too, and Joe Prunty. Maybe that was already posted. Adrian has a staff ready to go while we don't have any coach yet.

What are the odds that they want to hire an unknown candidate and would like to bring in Sergio as an Associate Head Coach or something?

Anyone willing to give me odds on this?

I was just listening to Raptors Over Everything on my way home and Amit Mann's guest, Gianluca Bortolomai, mentioned there are rumblings about bringing Šarūnas Jasikevičius as an assistant if Scariolo were to be hired.
