Paul George is much older (33) and more injury prone

Jordan makes a final bad pick before he sells the team?
Brandon Miller is that good. Wing players are harder to find.
I’m not a draft expert but from what I’ve seen and read, the reasoning for picking Miller isn’t that he’s head and shoulders above Scoot but that Charlotte already has Lamelo on the team. The comparisons I’ve heard for Brandon Miller are Danny Granger and Brandon Ingram, but he doesn’t seem to have the raw two way talent of even a Paul George. Not that it’s going to turn out this way, but it reminds me of the decision to draft Bogut and Marvin Williams over Chris Paul because you already have a PG on the roster. Again I could be wrong here but Charlotte has a very poor history of draft picks.

What’s sad is Atlanta didn’t even really have a good PG on the roster. The Marvin Williams pick was baffling.

Raptors are always in rumours but rarely anything gets done. Only behind the scenes out of the blue deals are done usually with this organization.

Portland wanting Bam is interesting. Shows they'd take a big but also tells Raptors they have options beside Siakam. I can see Raps offering OG and not budging while Blazers asking for Siakam.

The problem Miami had in the finals was size. Can't see them trading their best big man to try and get better. Its posturing IMO.

Yeah I was thinking the Raps might be offering OG and the 13 for the 3. They want to team Scoot with Barnes and Pascal.

There’s no way that’s a real rumour. Miami just isn’t moving Adebayo. If anything they need to add size.

Do you think if we somehow acquire the 3rd pick to get Scoot that would automatically mean we are not resigning FVV?

Maybe? I could see logic either way.
Get Fred to mentor Scoot (I know I know)
Or hands the keys to Scoot right away.

that would be a dream scenario but i don't see that offer being played out because OG+13 is probably one of the 'worse' trade offers for the #3 pick imho - if we're talking about Portland not translating that #3 into a perennial allstar calibre player.
i mean if Toronto, as current as the roster is today and had the #3 pick, needed a vet, no way they trade that pick for an OG level type of player (and the 13th)

OG + Siakam for Shaedon + 3 + Simons
Pick Miller.
Hope Wallace falls to 13
A foursome of Barnes, Miller, Sharpe and Wallace looks very well balanced and complementary IMO.
Still have GTJ, Precious and Koloko. Add Simons.
Keep Jak. You might be good quickly. Alot of high end talent there.
I get the feeling this organization would want nothing to do with Miller given his recent past. What if he were ever charged, you might not get him over the border. The risk there might be slim but you can’t ignore it, not to mention it’s stupid and questionable character-wise.
So any trade for 3 would be contingent on Scoot being available at the time.

Og and 13 is better than PG13. Especially when you have to find about 10 mil salary to trade instead of 40. It in effect means they could keep Simons.

What they fail to realize with this smoke is any contending team like the Clippers or Miami will not go from that close to winning the title to essentially rebuilding or retooling.
You're asking these teams to subtract their second best player on a contending team for a rookie, they wont be contention anymore

i mean Toronto would probably surprise everyone and take Hendricks at #3
