Really, he has the quickness and enough strength to be a lead guard, but he has to break through that wall to prove he is a starter. He needs to be at least a 20 PPG and 7-8 assists like Fred VanVleet otherwise we need to pivot to a different option. Even with teams like Dallas where they have Luka who is the lead handler 80% of the time, they still need a PG in Kyrie who is a 25+ ppg scorer.
I hope IQ will work during this last portion of the season to prove he is a starter. He just has to get into his offense earlier.
I just want us to use him as that off guard the majority of the time. I think as a scoring threat from 3 is where the majority of his value comes from. Once he gets his floater back, I think we'll be in a good spot.
He doesn't run a "dynamic" offence, and it's why I think Scottie needs to be the initiator most of the time, he has the size and the acumen to see things develop that other players usually don't. IQ can run a more standard HC offence I think, it's not bad, but he's not making any crazy plays or passes, just the safe stuff. Much like FVV, they can punish bad defence, but they don't break down good defence.
