He seems like Ryan Anderson 2.0.

I'd rather gamble on the 7'2 Latvian and take Melton.

Yeah that would be a dream scenario. You get a guy to stash with huge potential, and a guy with a defensive mindset. The only better scenario I can think of would be Anunoby + Melton.

I'd take the giant over him as well, but I certainly wouldn't be upset if we came away with Lydon.

I'd rather TJ Leaf fall to us as he's a very good passer.

DX seems to think he'll return for his sophomore year. If he declares he's on my wish list. My ideal draft would be something like:

1. Rabb - Either by him falling(He's a mid-first right now in most mocks) or trade Poeltl
2. Bridges - If he falls into the 20s, which is possible though far from guaranteed.

3. Melton - I might have him 4th as well behind Collins.

4. Collins

5. Anzejs Pacecniks

There are a few other guys I'd be fine with as well including Lydon, Leaf, Hart, Jeanne, Evans.

I'm staying away from OG until I hear what exactly was the nature of the knee injury he sustained. If it's tendon or ligament damage I'd pass. If it's just a break, which I think heals better, I'd snag him.

I do wonder what we're doing with these two picks

I'd love to keep one and draft a high potential forward but two more rookies on this team is too much unless we start shipping out some veterans

I'm still taking him, even with a tendon or ligament injury. Plenty of guys have come back from those injuries. Our very own point guard tore his ACL.

Agreed. Plenty have. Plenty haven't. I'd be curious to know what the ration is of guys completely regaining their previous level of play after an ACL tear.
It's not a terrible risk to take OG, particularly if you think he has all-star potential. I mean if you think he's just a role player then obviously nobody would make the pick, but if you think you're waiting on a star then you take him and run.

Draft and stash is always an option.

The draft is always a risk though. If you wait for good reports on OG you risk teams ahead of us taking him, but if you just say screw it and take him you could benefit from a ballsy decision. Of course there's always the possibility that he's a shell of his former self, but you'll never be great if you don't take risks.

I know you need to take risks. I'm not sure I feel OG is worth it or not, but that's entirely subjective. I'd rather grab Melton as the gamble pick, though there's still plenty of time left until the draft and I think this year is one where I'll be flip flopping until the last minute.

There are a few other guys I'd be fine with as well including Lydon, Leaf, Hart, Jeanne, Evans.

Jeanne maybe with the 2dn round pick and stash him. He seems like Bebe so don't really need him right now.

Bridges, Melton and Anzejs Pacecniks bring-multi tools that can help the bench until they develop into starters. I think Rabb and Collins may not transition so well against taller players in the NBA.

I would think if Rabb had difficulty transitioning it would be due to strength rather than length. He has excellent length for a power forward at 6'10 with a 7'2 wingspan. He's skinny though, like Bosh was, so he certainly needs to hit the weight room.

The thing is he doesn't look fluid as a skinny player, so when he eventually bulks up it may hurt him like JV and end up like Kwame Brown with better hands.

Doubt it. JV has problems because he's lazy with his conditioning. Gaining muscle mass physically improves performance until a player exceeds his ideal weigh. Pretty sure he can get up to 225-230 before that happens. I could reference studies but it's been a long day.

Isaiah hartenstein looked really good. Lazy ass defender but casey would bench his ass and teach him discipline

Poeltl can hit the NBA 3 in practice, so that doesn't mean anything. Would rather have a good defender that can't shoot that well but must have decent mechanics since that's more fixable than no motor or fire.

The Raps pick and Clippers pick can't BOTH be 24th!
