Who are some of those players that might be available via trade?
Lonzo, Lauri, Dunn come to mind. Who else?
Josh Hart, Justice Winslow, Mo Bamba, Dennis Smith Jr., TJ Leaf, Taureen Prince, Jordan Bell, Moritz Wagner, Spencer Dinwiddie
Quick thoughts:
Lonzo - Love his size and defense and passing and he should get better at scoring inside and outside as most PGs do, so depending on the price, sure, but I assume it will be a big price.
Lauri - My guess is price is too high for just a shooter but new Bulls management (though smarter) so who knows which young players AK thinks are best shipped out while they have value
Dunn - Incredibly intriguing, purely a question of if he can learn to stick a 3 and become a bigger, scarier Pat Beverley
Hart - Think he'd suit us nicely if Powell is dealt and VanVleet leaves, but I do think he's basically at his full potential
Winslow - Nah, they just dealt a ton for him. But otherwise, if VanVleet leaves, an OG-Siakam-Winslow-Powell-Lowry lineup looks defensively very strong and he'd help with some ballhandling work
Bamba - Going from **** to bad on O from year 1 to year 2 was an underrated and nice progression for a 21 year old stretch 5. He can shoot the 3 and is long, if Orlando is souring on him I'd be down for this for sure, though they obviously should tank and play him 25 minutes a night next year with Isaac out
Dennis Smith - For the minimum, as a reclamation project, sure. Probably have to turn him into a 2 guard to simplify things for him.
TJ Leaf - We'd have to project him as a killer 3pt shooter, but we could use a minimum stretch 4
Prince - I think he is who he is, but I also think VanVleet to the Nets for some combo involving Dinwiddie makes sense because...
Dinwiddie - Should be on this team next year. There are very few potential late game closers who could be available fairly cheap and don't eat into Giannis space and Dinwiddie is by far the best. Whether that means one of FVV or Powell is gone is hard to say, but it's also possible we could swing an Ibaka sign and trade for Dinwiddie and the Nets deal Jarrett Allen for a wing defender or guard. I genuinely think Dinwiddie playing 25 minutes a night and closing games for us against Boston running his preferred very high screen and rolls from 25 feet could have gotten us over the hump and we still need a crunch time perimeter closer next year and the league has gotten away from those types. Derrick Rose could be a fit. Jordan Clarkson would be too but he's gonna sign a longer deal. Lou Will for one year isn't insane either.
Jordan Bell - Don't see this one working out unless he's shown skill and reading the game development I don't know about in Minny. There's multiple guys on that roster I am more intrigued by like Okogie and Mclaughlin and Vanderbilt.
Mo Wagner - This one is interesting. He could play at the 5 for us and be another scorer and he might be 3rd string there next year so available cheap.
