trading defence for offense and our iso closer. who says no?

Boucher + OG for Jaylen Brown works out salary wise.

FVV
Brown
Barnes
Siakam
Birch

and Brown is someone we hope OG would turn into. Brown has above average defense.

Raptors probably won't do the trade because Brown isn't a superstar. and trading OG means we lose an asset for an all-in move. Jaylen Brown, imho, isn't an all-in move. its an upgrade but not championship contender status upgrade. ofc you could move Brown later on.

but also Brown is the better player today. and only 1 year older. i think they should look into it. Ainge isn't there anymore so maybe that trade works out.

I would keep OG .. I would trade Pascal for Jaylen Brown. I think value wise, what OG brings to the team is way more valuable then what Pascal brings to the team. OG can space the floor and he is already one of the best wing defenders. Having him alongside Barnes who are trying to develop as our marquee player and getting scorer like Brown would make us more balanced and much better team.

Siakam’s salary makes it really hard to trade for Brown unfortunately.

with his player option next year, we'd probably have to give up the 2nd

Disagree, OG is a valuable asset. One of the best, if not the best 3&D player on an insanely cheap contract for his position.

BUT, they aren't giving up Jaylen Brown for him lol.

Boston would consider Pascal for Brown ... Pascal can play the 4 and would compliment their star player Tatum. Raptors should consider OG & Barnes untouchable.. the only two players they should keep unless they are getting Giannis in return .

I would do it for one reason, and one reason only:

Spoiler:
To see Bill Simmons' reaction.

But Tatum is big enough to play PF. Is that not his usual position (when they're not playing Horford and Time Lord together)? And from the Raptors' perspective, Siakam has better counting numbers. His PER is two points higher, and climbing.

Raps aren't going to trade Siakam within the conference. I look forward to trading him for a salary controlled bench, a la the Rudy Gay trade, once he ups his trade value.

I wouldn't consider OG untouchable. He is a solid young player on a good contract but you should listen to offers. Now, I doubt there will be offers that make Masai happen because it would really need to be a superstar or young Allstar you can package OG plus assets for whose contract runs for a couple of years. Not sure who we will trade but I think the easiest way to push through is a Siakam for a bench trade. Star for star player is difficult as is salary matching with several high profile players. I think Siakam will bring the greatest return as well.

The obvious issue is Toronto's bench play and a couple tweaks might salvage them.

Houston has Eric Gordon who has 3 years on his deal but would be a perfect 6 man who can be the focal point of the bench. He carried their team during their 7 game win streak. Give them Dragic plus Flynn or Bongs and maybe a future 2nd and it saves them cash and they get a prospect.

If Toronto wants to go all in then they add in Daniel Theis. He is a good defender but him and Wood such together. Toronto could add in Boucher and Svi and That might work. Maybe upgrade this to a lottery protected FRP.

Toronto goes into the tax but they can now compete in playoffs with some decent depth behind them.

Brown is young, and an allstar.

His offensive game over laps tatum much like how theres much overlapping between OG Barnes and Siakam.

OG plus filler for Brown is THE move to persue

Hm no absolutely not. This move wouldn't move a needle. Brown is a pure Iso scorer, don't see the fit with VanVleet + Barnes and Siakam. With his efg% he's slight ahead of Barnes at #58. Brown is not the kind of player to do a all in move.

TOR Trades - Siakam, VanVleet, Boucher + 4 unprotected 1st (2022, 2024, 2026, 2028)

CLE Trades - Mobley, Love, Rubio

Toronto builds around a Mobley, Barnes, Trent Jr., OG core.

Raptors are not going into the tax for a play in team. It’s either they pull a miracle with Dragic or we’re stuck with what we have imo.

6’10” and 7’2” wingspan. Just 21 years old. Wish we could’ve jumped on a deal before he started balling out, but I’d still love to get him. He could be a great move as the 5 of the future for us

If the kid continues to show he can play, he would be a strong target in FA this summer.
I would imagine he will be in contention for a piece of a lot of teams MLE.

Hopefully our reputation of developing guys could give us an edge over other teams offering the MLE. We could turn him into a great player

Always felt he had it in him. the fit in phx just wasn’t there cause they have Ayton

As others have corrected me on previously, Jalen Smith had his option declined. If we traded for him, we would be capped at how much we could offer him in FA.

He'd be a great target in FA.

Draft a combo guard and get this guy.

Any interest in Nurkic and a Norm God reunion.

Portland is spinning the drain.

Dragic, Boucher, Flynn and a 2023 1st* out. (*Converts to two seconds if Nurkic doesn't resign).

Powell and Nurkic in.

Nurkic
Siakam, Precious (4/5)
OG, Barnes (1-5)
GTJ, Norm (2/3)
FVV

Non FVV lineups should always contain Norm and Barnes/Siakam.

Depth pieces are better placed (Yuta, Svi, Banton, Birch) to plug into the injury holes as needed.

Still maintain our 1st this year.

I don't see the point in this trade. I don't think I want the back end of Norm's new deal as much as I like him and by taking his deal on we can't afford to resign Nurkic. Also add to that that Portland would only make this trade if they were breaking up the team and selling off all their parts including Dame.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….
