Just a warning on lonzo ball. I was listening to some basketball podcast and they were talking to some Bulls beat insiders and they're really concerned that lonzo's injury is career ending. He still walks around in pain and still can't jump or move around freely pain free. Despite what lonzo and his handlers are telling the media, those who are privy to the situation says it's quite dire and that there's no guarantees he can play again and even if he does he may not be the same. Think Brandon Roy and his meniscus knee injuries and surgeries.

I was coming to say exactly this.
Didn't realize it was this bad by way of potentially career-ending but either way your adding a guy who has two years left on his deal (1 G and 1 PO) beyond this year who may never come close to the player he was ahead of the injury. its a risky gambit.

Thanks for posting the list.
Johnson, White, Reddish, and Dosunmu have shown some signs of life but a lot of guys on this list have significant reasons as to why they weren't extended to begin with.

With that said, I didn't think GTJ would be the level of player he is now immediately after we traded for him.

Cam Johnson feels like a lock to stay in PHX.
Cam Reddish, I have never been a fan of his game. And he has always had horrid shooting % even going back to college.
One of White or Dosunmu, could be traded. I feel like Bulls would prefer to keep Ayo if they had to choose.

Neemias Queta though. That's someone I liked during his draft. He hasn't had much run though...

I don't think there's much in Fred's IG post? Yet, I do still think it's interesting that Fred and Scottie both do not follow each other on IG but follow the other starters. Seems like too much of a coincidence for both to be doing that.

Looking at the standings I'm ready to give up on being competitive this year and chase a top draft pick where the raps have top 6/7 odds.

Trade GTJ or Fred to better tank, chase a top 5 pick, then run it back next year with a better bench.

If you want a top five pick, trading Fred's the path. So long as you're OK with him going to Orlando. Their Bulls pick is top four protected.

Looking for some trade action between the Jazz and the Raptors. OG will be involved. And I'm a massive OG fan, so it hurts to say that.

6 is where I'd personally like to be. That way, if anyone leaps into the top (and at least one team does every year), we're still in position to pick up a great prospect.

I can't see the Magic moving a top 4 protected pick for half a season of Vanvleet and then paying him $30M+ in the offseason. But hey, if they're down, I'd personally drive him to the airport.

I still think the Bulls are the best choice. We can pick up White, PWIll and a first, which is plenty youth in return.

I personally don't see the point. There's no player that fits what we should be trying to do on the Jazz and I'm not willing to move OG for just picks straight up.

I see only Trent out the door for now. FVV situation seems messy, I think they deal with it in a S and T

You're not getting a top 5 pick for Fred in this draft. The Raptors own pick is likely to be top 7, and maybe with a bit of lottery luck could turn into a top 4.

Filtering the list of veterans and RFAs we might get for Fred or Trent to my favs, we're left with:

Veterans:

Lonzo
WCJ
Bamba
Ayton

RFAs:

Ayo Dosunmu
Cameron Johnson

Personally, I'd roll the dice on Bamba. A 7 footer who can shoot the three and is a plus defender. He just comes across as a player who would excel with us and addresses our needs.

Cuz all the reports point to that + I dont think we will pay him his ask of $25M/yr , it will be tough to work out with OG and Siakam extensions coming up (possibility of those, so it keeps our flexibility)

They have some sort of cap impingement from my understanding. Plus, it's not like they need more youth or really draft well.

It sounds like a bad idea, but it might actually make sense for them.
