Chris, rumours up north here that all Raptors veterans are on the block -- Leandro Barbosa, Jose Calderon, Reggie Evans. Do you think any of those names will attract interest from contenders?

Chris Sheridan

Calderon ($9M, two years left) would seem to have the most untradeable contract of the three. Barbosa would probbly be the most likely to go, though Evans is a wild card if he comes back and plays as well as he did before breaking his foot. I would exepct him to be rushed back and showcased soon. Raptors still have $12 million of their Bosh trade exception remaining, so they can be more creative than most teams in making uneven deals. (Barbosa fits in OKC, no? Bet the Raptors would love to get their hands on that Cippers' pick).

I would gladly take that. It's a 2012 first rounder, top ten protected until 2016.

Yep, it's their 2012 pick, and it's top 10 protected every year until 2016, at which point it becomes unprotected.

Umm I hope we can get more than a 2012 protected first rounder for Barbosa; I rather keep Barbosa if that is the case. The Clippers are on the rise, and this team is bad enough. I can't bear another year of this crap. Young prospect or 2011 picks please.

^^ 2012 is going to be a better draft than this year's, with anyone who doesn't declare this year, along with Q.Miller/Michael Gilchrist/Austin Rivers/Marquis Teague/Myck Kabongo/James McAdoo/LeBryan Nash, and possibly Andre Drummond as well. Now obviously most of those guys will go high in the draft, but, that's 8 prospects right there... someone could very well slip out of the top 10 to where the Clippers could be picking. Which young prospect do you think we can get with Barbosa that would be better return?

Worst. Trade. Ever.

Amir brings so much to the table compared to weak ass CV... Wallace and Summers are useless that this point...

No Thx. I'd rather keep Amir. Love what he dose on the court. He's even a great guy off the court.

I am not sure why Toronto does that;
Or why CV is playing the five.

Rather have the Minny Pick that the Clips own.

2011 top 10 protected, 2012 unprotected.

2011 top 10 protected, 2012 unprotected.

I don't think we could even get that pick if we traded Bargs. With Minny being a perennial bottom feeder, that pick is virtually guaranteed to be a top 8 pick (that's the worst case if Minny has the 5th worst record in the league, and three teams leapfrog them in the lottery to move into the top 3), and could very possibly be a #1 pick overall. In a deep draft like next year's, it's highly unlikely that the Clips give that up unless they're getting real star talent in return.

idea: Has to be done in 2 parts because it doesnt work as one all together under the CBA but it makes sense:

1st part:

To TOR: Jeffries + Johnson
To CHI: Barbosa + Dorsey
To HOU: Watson + Scal

2nd part:

To TOR: Bogans + Bulls 2011 2nd rounder
To HOU: TE (1.3 via Bosh TE) + CHA 1st (via CHI) + Suns 2nd (via CHI)
To CHI: Lee

Raptors save money next year (5 million) + get a prospect in Johnson + a 2nd rounder that they dont have this year.

HOU gets out of luxury tax + get a pick for Lee who isnt finding minutes in their new rotation

CHI gets a starting SG and backup PG/SG in Barbosa to make a run.

i think this deal has a chance of happening and makes TONS of sense.

I like the updated version....
Basically...exact same deal....but Ishmael Smith goes to Chicago. Bulls need to bring for players in regardless....
One problem....Chicago does not have a 2011 2nd rounder. It went to Golden State for Watson.

Here's another Bargs trade that likely won't happen, but I think is realistic value-wise:

Bargs+Barbosa+Reggie for Redd+Sanders+CDR

The Bucks, who are dead-last in scoring and are close to making the playoffs, pick up two offensive pieces in Bargs/Barbosa at the cost of their expirings and Sanders. A Bargs/Bogut frontcourt could be pretty good, and Barbosa gives them some solid scoring in their backcourt.

Raps clear salary to go after some young free agents (a lot will depend on the outcome of the draft, but I'd target Wilson Chandler/Thaddeus Young at SF, and DeAndre Jordan/Gasol/Perkins/Nene/Chandler at C). We get CDR to try out at SF (who might be worth keeping), and Sanders, who is probably a PF, but with those freaky long arms and shotblocking ability, we can try him out at C for now (or else just use him as a trade asset in another deal). We move all of our vets except for Jose (who we can hopefully move in another deal), so our young players will get lots of meaningful playing time.

Sanders/Ajinca/Alabi
Amir/Ed/Dorsey
CDR/Wright/Kleiza
DeMar/Weems
Jose/Bayless

I have a feeling BC is interested in Jeff Green

And OKC would surely be interested in Davis or Amir

Ed Davis for Jeff Green basically works. It'd be tough to lose a prospect like Davis but obviously having both him and Amir brings question marks long term
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

I actually really really like the trade with the bucks, however I would change it just a little and make it a blockbuster

Bargnani
Barbosa
Kleiza
Weems
Miami 1st
Alibi
for

Sanders
Redd
Mbah a Moute
CDR
Bucks 1st Rounder

2012 Raps - ASSUMING CALDERON COULD BE TRADED IN 2011 AS WELL

GASOL / JORDAN / CHANDLER - SANDERS - AJINCA
AMIR - ED DAVIS
YOUNG OR GREEN - MBAH A MOUTE
DEROZEN - CDR - BUCKS 1ST ROUNDER
IRVING - BAYLESS

THIS TEAM WOULD BE YOUNG AND ATHLETIC AND ONE OF THE BEST DEFENSIVE FRONTCOURTS IN THE NBA

what about

To Toronto: Mike Dunleavy
To Indiana: Reggie Evans + Leandro Barbosa

Pacers get people who help them make the playoffs this year

Raptors move salary

ive always thought something like.

To TOR: Thabeet + Mayo
To MEM: Barbosa + Dorsey + Alabi (or evans) + MIA pick

made sense for everyone. MEM goes for making the playoffs + saves money + gets a pick.

Calderon / Bayless
Mayo / Weems / Johnson
Derozan / Wright / Klezia
Amir / Davis / Ajincia
Bargnani / Evans / Thabeet

article by Chisholm...

I like these suggestions but I might actually like Martell Webster. In fact if Flynn came with Webster that would be better than a Mayo/Thabeet package considering Mayo could be a problem child and Thabeet is 5 million thrown in the dumpster.

I like Avery Bradley for Weems or Wright but worry he might be another small 2 like Bayless. I'd still do that for Wright in a heartbeat. Weems I'd send to Chicago for James Johnson and take a flyer on that guy and see what he can do with minutes. His versatility at 2 positions might be a good bench replacement for Kleiza. Would prefer to draft Irving or Jones III but if we were able to acquire the guys below then Kantner could help us of that I'm sure. Lot of pressure on this draft selection nd picking Kantner BC might need a of full scale PR team to deflect the eggs being thrown. Not sure how we get rid of good guy Jose.

PG: Flynn/Avery/Bayless
SG: Bayless/Demar
SF: Demar/Webster/Johnson
PF: Amir/Davis/Johnson
C: Bargnani/Kantner
