The Raptors can run his name in trade rumours while paying him, too. As long as he plays hard when the lights go on I don't care, and if he wants out the Raptors can send him on his way via trade or let him walk.

Kawhi was actively recruiting guys to go join him in LA while he was competing against for us during the playoffs. We can hate this all we want, but that's the way it is.

Pacers get Ayton

Then you can fill in gaps.

Ayton cannot legally be traded to Indiana this year due to Phoenix matching the offer sheet

But it is us trading him to Pacers as there are 2 separate trades. I read somewhere it is allowed (this was a few years ago though, so maybe that loophole was removed)

I have seen a lot of internet traffic about the Suns getting both OG and Fred. Nothing wrong with that but to target Ayton, and to further hear that Toronto has fans of DA in the front office further confirms how incompetent this management really is.

I am all for a smart tanking strategy where you acquire picks and young prospects, but DA is a max contract player playing with the best pick and roll PG in the NBA. His somewhat mediocre #s for a max player are inflated by Chris Paul. If we trade away Fred, we have no PG to get the ball to Ayton. We also would have to overhaul the defensive scheme. This is a player benched in the playoffs due to his defense.

Phoenix has about 8 picks so let's focus on that plus find a third team to get a viable young player or two, like the Utah Jazz (Colin Sexton, Vanderbilt). Let's not start a new era with even more flaws than before.

It is looking to me like OG, Fred traded. Trent resigned in offseason, Pascal possibly moved in off-season as teams gain access to all their future picks (like Washington, Chicago and Dallas)

It's like asking us to trade Barnes. People should learn to value other teams young players as you do your own lol.

Agreed but it's also worth considering where a team is at as well. Indiana isn't competing or contending so they'd have no motivation to part with Mathurin unless it's a slam dunk deal.

Moving Barnes for KD in the Summer might have made sense if they didn't have to gut the roster to make salaries work.

I'm still low-key hoping that Masai finds a way to acquire Mobley since the Cavs are all-in at this point.

Which player is going to pass to Ayton to set him up for his interior plays he is use to with CP3, if Fred is gone. Also Ayton will occupy so much of the paint that it is going to hinder Barnes development. We need a stretch 5, not Ayton, Pascal and Barnes vying for interior space

This management didnt move all in for KD or Donovan, but they plan on trading two of their biggest assets in Fred and OG for Ayton and Cam. Just wow , the MlSE board needs to fire this group if that actually happens. I’d rather lose Fred and OG in free agency than pay 30 Mil + to a one dimensional center in Ayton.

Raptors front office would be, since Ayton is a drop big with limited shooting range and has a history of giving up. His coach even called him out on that.

I'd have to look at how many games he played without CP3 and who the opponent was, but Ayton is not the most advanced scorer. We all just watched him do his lazy backdown and hookshot. He is as basic as it comes. CP3 or even Book get him the ball in optimal spots.
