Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
Golden State Warriors: Pascal Siakam, Otto Porter Jr.
Utah Jazz: Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Chris Paul, two Golden State First Round Picks, one Toronto First Round Pick
Toronto Raptors: Lauri Markkanen, John Collins
This I would do

This might be the Lakers best shooting night. Just unlucky, honestly. Cam Reddish and AD making 3's, lmao

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
Decent game vs the Lakers (where there are usually a lot of eye balls watching from around the league)

So you wanna break this team up where it's obvious there is a high ceiling, one where Scottie can organically transition to a number one, while we keep on building a contender? Oh and also realize how important Yak is, and how trading for him was an integral part of building this winner? Or are you too stubborn to admit the reality?

Do you want to pay pascal $50m per year or possibly lose him for nothing if he decided he doesn’t want to stay?

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
I think they should just re-sign him to the max. You need more than one to win, so why can’t they have both Siakam and Scottie when it becomes time?
All this team really needs is a C that can protect the rim, rebound and space the floor. They should be trading Poeltl, not Siakam. Siakam has already proven he can be a championship level Robin if Scottie can be their Batman. He also has already done it to mentor all the guys who havent been there before.
Find better complimentary pieces for your two HOME GROWN All-NBA caliber superstars!! They turned OG into 2 more naturally aggressive offensive players. If they could flip Poeltl for a C that has to be respected behind the arc, and Mr. Dick can show why he was one of the best shooters in all of college basketball last year to start giving them bench minutes then they could have something

What is that something though? Is it a contender? How do you turn Poeltl into a starting shooting C without adding some value? And what value do you add? We already owe what looks like it will be a Top 10 pick for Poeltl and we don't have any valuable youth on our bench.
When it comes to our capsheet, we have to pay IQ this summer and Barnes the summer after that; plus we've added Barrett. If you pay Siakam $50M per, how can we afford these upgrades? We could let Trent walk, of course but we probably won't be getting a better talent for the MLE contract that would likely be replacing him. Not to mention, we already have a pretty sizeable hole at backup C.
I agree we can't lose him for nothing but keeping him and building with/around him is untenable long term. Knowing this front office, we'll probably just resign him to the max and kick the can down the road but you have to hope that a $50M per Siakam retains his value because if he doesn't, this becomes Scottie's time that you're wasting now.
Maxing Siakam, by virtue of his new salary, is going to make him a lot more difficult to trade as interested teams will need to give up more salary in order to acquire him.

For the role that Pascal played in the Lakers game - man, Jalen Johnson would look so good in that same role.

No one wants to give up nice assets and then have to give him the max

The earliest that pick can be is 2026 as well.
Pretty terrible offer.

We would have to toss in like 10 1st rounders for sure. We probably would need to give one more salary to balance out for cap purposes with the lakers also

This I would do
I’d do it too but I think Ainge would want all the picks and swaps available because he’s valuing Markkanen like an All-NBA player.
I’d actually be inclined to give up those picks if we are confident in re-signing him. He only has $6M of his $18M guaranteed next year—not sure if that would make him more or less inclined to sign an extension.
