Perry's got as much slack for his red flags as anyone here. Maybe too much. It seems like a lot of prospects can be misread mentally. There's so much bull-sh*t going around from agents and coaches and scouts that you just don't know. Like Joe Alexander was supposed to be the hardest worker in the league and a guy who sleeps in the gym and then was the laziest player on the team after he got drafted. A year ago Greg Monroe was the motivional issues guy. So much for that. I remember when Jordan Hill was a 21 year old PF with no hands or offensive game at all or feel for the game, who somehow was projected a borderline top 5 pick all year just because of "he has such a great motor!!!" Motor is overrated for lottery picks. Give me talent every day. It wouldn't surprise me if a ton of the psst psst Perry Jones talk is fabricated by agents and scouts who want him to drop.
I'm not saying the concerns aren't valid but Monroe and Gay are too guys where the GMs took the "doesn't have drive" concern too far. Shelden Williams and Ekpe Udoh going ahead of those guys is ridiculous. I'm not sure who the Williams/Udoh of this draft would be if Perry fell to 7 or 8 - Well Kawhi Leonard seems like he could be a classic 'Why the hell would they take a energy wing over a potential star... but he has motor!' pick, but I'd be shocked if he went top 10. Then again a year ago I never dreamed Udoh would go 6 at this point. Maybe Kemba is that guy but it seems like he falls into a different category of overrated prospects (big college stars with games that won't translate). I guess Valanciunas falls into the Jordan Hill camp of "A skinny 7 footer with no offensive game or awareness on either side of the court... but he plays hard!!!" projects
I think Perry's play kind of speaks for itself. His talent indicates that he be producing more. He's lost everywhere he's gone. The mistake you are making is choosing examples of busts to make your point for selecting Perry. Dwight Howard was a raw hustle player. Gerald Green had talent. The comparisons are endless.

Perry's actually done well this season despite playing out of position next to a complete ball hog. His production is underrated IMO. And Baylor was just a wrong team for him (or for any other prospect expected to go high)

And I appreciated it!
I think it was much better than this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_Y8HmegdDQ
I still cant believe how horrible the selection was for the game.

Hopefully they play Quincy at the Small Foward position.
It will definetly be interesting to see how Miller does.

Isaiah Austin in 2012 too.
Baylor is now a hotspot destination for bluechippers.

Yeah, I'm interested to know what you think of Austin.
From the little that I've seen, he's seems to play more of a small/outside shooting power forwards game, but he has center height.
What position do you see him playing in the future?

WTF I just read this part over. Who the hell cares if he takes 0.3 3-point attempts per game and doesn't make it? All that matters is his 55% on field goals.
We need three point shooters pretty badly. This is one of the reasons why most people on this board are high on kyrie, dwilliams, barnes and even Kemba. Most of these guys fit a skill and positional need.

some of the most innovative and nicest dunks ive ever seen. from a highschool competition too.
i watched it too, but anybody else find it kind of funny that sunny posted this like 3 or 4 times over span of 4 pages? hahaha
A bunch of guys on this forum followed the mcdonalds AA game and were saying how good the dunk competition was.
As a fan of a westcoast team, I cannt support the AA game as their selection process is extremely flawed.
The ballislife game was created to showcase all these westcoast players who should have received much more attention.
Additionally, some of the dunks were just nasty.
I kept posting it because nobody had responded to it and I wanted to see peoples reactions.
You watched it, what were your thoughts?
haha i meant no offense, just found it kind of comical. but yeah most of those dunks were more impressive than the nba dunk "contest", and they were pretty damn impressive by themselves even if i werent to compare them to the nba fiasco. not to mention these are kids coming out of high school. and this is coming from a team flight brothers subscriber lol.

I think at this point we shouldn't be focusing on one specific attribute even if it's in need. 3 pointers would be nice but we simply need a major upgrade in talent, period. We can worry about 3 pointers later. Specialists for that are relatively easier to find anyway.

he is very talented. Already 7 feet and still growing. Not only is he very slender, but he plays a very quick, agile game. I guess he will play centres at all levels, but he definitely isn't stereotypical. He can hit 3's and handle the ball really well (sorta like a SF), but is a remarkable defender against other bigmen (although hes taller than everyone he plays). He has no postup, back to the basket game from what i've seen. I don't see why he cant develop it though.
He also looks hilarious when he plays because of his glasses.

stephen zimmerman is the number 1 prospect for 2015 (2016 nba draft) and is already 6'10.

If he's related to Bob Dylan, I'm in.

While were talking about NBA prospects that are due here in like half a decade I thought I would share this clip. Kids name is Damon Harge and I bet his handles are better than many NBA players. Take it with a grain of salt; the kid is only 11

Interesting indeed, perhaps he'll torn another pair of ACLs?

At 3:42-3:43, his spin move against the beard guy was sick. Let's hope he grows to 6' 2 or 6' 3 instead of 5'9 - 5'10

I think Harrison barnes makes a brief appearance at 4:20.
