There's a long history of the "trying to turn a 2 guard into a big PG to fit our team" idea not working. You need to have the PG gene in your blood and developmental history to play the position. It's hard to explain but it happens over and over and over in the draft. You're either a PG or a SG after your college season, your stripes don't change. Sometimes types like S Curry can be a shoot first player in college, but still overwhelmingly ball dominant and the guy "running the offense" and making all the decisions for his team. He was a PG, just a score first one. I would say Lillard falls into that group. That's different from Beal, a player who is a flat out, run me off screens and let me space the floor for my PG, 2 guard, who has no history playing the 1.

Demar can either be a poor man's Wilson Chandler at SF or he can get out if we consider Beal the BPA. Nothing wrong with having 2 very good SGs and dealing one. Especially if it's done before Demar gets paid.

NC State was F'd in the A.

Nobody even has an opinion on the play. Not even Elmore. If you don't know, don't call anything. Marshall didn't clearly drop his shoulder, if the defender doesn't flop He gets bumped. Incidental contact. No call.

This game solidified for me why I don't want Barnes. Terrible decision making in clutch situations. Marshall looks good for a mid round pick though.

Having a guard thats able to play both guard positions is a significant asset.

We should ship Bayless out immediately and when Jose needs rest he can play the backup 1.

You can't teach court vision. He has potential to be a great ball handler and the court vision is what seperates a guy like him from a Bayless Randy Foye/ Monta Ellis.

I don't think it was the no calls. But the constant blowing of the whistle before the no call. Officiating must be consistent.

Yeah, NC State got completely screwed.

And I was flipping back and forth between the Florida-Kentucky game (Beal!), but Barnes looked pretty useless whenever I tuned in. I've said it before and, given my lack of creativity, I'll probably say it again: I like Barnes a lot except when I'm watching him play.

It's not about Beal playing PG full-time. Just the occasional spurt of bringing the ball up and initiating the offense.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Agree undefeated, Casey's system is all about screen and roll or cut etc, PG isn't the most important under Casey, if other guards have court vision it'll work equally fine in his system, bring the ball up by Beal, and then work on their play quickly. I rather have Beal bring the ball up and quickly pass to Bargs, or to Demar to attack, than having Jose hogging the ball for the entire possession.

If Beal measures 6'4" or over, he goes top 5. The kid is a stud, he is going to be a great shooting guard.

Tough question though. They really miss Henson's interior D, although Macadoo played good this game but he isn't really a defensive stud. UNC is really going to have trouble defending the paint especially if they face a ranked team with solid big men inside. Let's just hope Henson's injury isn't too serious.

Test showed it was negative, he might be out for 2-3 games, who knows.

You want a first-option scorer, you take Lamb. You want an all around impact player, you take Beal.

Debatable !

Agreed Lamb isn't a first option. He is a weak side attacker, more of a second option.

I'll say it again - I think Beal goes above Barnes in the draft. Freshman vs soph is always an advantage, both guys have similar games though Beal looks more mobile attacking the basket, is a better passer and has the freaky rebounding for his position thing, and seems more aggressive in general. I have a feeling Beal's tournament is more of a story than Barnes' as well, partly from the teams they're on. On that note Bracketology currently has UNC vs Florida in the Sweet Sixteen if they made it there so would be a big game

I think Ford's mock of Barnes at 2 or 3 is a red herring. It'll be hard to beat MKG and Beal as a soph to their freshman. If he's the 3rd wing off the board I don't think Barnes goes top 7.

I think Barnes at 7-9 if that's where we're picking is a huge possibility
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change
