Other teams actively make themselves worse to secure better draft pick position. Raps did not. Bobby wants the pick to convey.

Ya, trading away a 30 minute guard for nothing is something a team that wants to win does...

If the Raps really wanted to win and give up the pick they wouldn't have traded Dennis for literally nothing. I think their biggest priority is finding the right pieces around Scottie and if that leads to more wins or more losses in the short term, so be it.
Agree with this. Only thing confusing is why we kept Brown. I guess we want to see if we’ll keep our FRP before deciding what to flip him for.
same reason we always keep our guys. Mu asks for too much. He's not bright. Makes the same mistakes over and over
What a tiresome argument not grounded in reality. My god.

Y'all would've traded DeMar for Nicolas Batum back in the day and never even sniffed a chance at getting Kawhi

Unless it's locked, I'm never letting this thread die. Needs to stay on the first page for another 2 seasons. Idc
Anyway, stupid Grizzlies. How can you lose to the even stupider Hornets?

Re: Tank World Order (The Remix Vol. IV)
I think we end the season around 29-53. That’s bad enough to be around the 7th worst range. Sadly that’s not good enough for the lotto imo, we could have done better at the deadline. But Bobby and Masai didn’t trade enough players, we could have gone even younger imo.

If we do some calculated tanking (rest RJ and IQ on and off, same with Poeltl then we could end worse. But Memphis and Blazers (are two competitions) are monsters at this tanking thing.

I hate how he's throwing his hands up in the air just saying "WELL LOTTO BALLS GONNA LOTTO BALL" like it's not their fault we're in that position.

Props TZ!

Raps will be competing with Charlotte and Detroit next year, but I prefer the young Detroit core more....

It will come down to ping pong balls. Odds are against us. We are not out tanking POR and MEM , so my mindset is that we are losing this pick this year

I think in an ideal world, the Raps FO would like to be around the play-in. Further away from the 7th pick, but still have a lottery chance. So either do well in the lottery and end up in the top 4, or they transfer a pick that is 10-12th.

I think Detroit and Charlotte should improve next year and might pass us but Washington has no path to being good.
As painful as it will be, the truth is we're best off being terrible for the next couple years and coming out of the draft with a couple top 6 or so picks to add to Scottie, Quickley, Barrett and Dick and give us a fun top 6-7 again. We need some elite talent and we just don't have any outside of maybe Barnes.
Probably worth considering moving Poeltl too if we can get a fun pick swap out of it from a team like Memphis or a Clippers 2030 pick swap and Zubac to a 3rd team and Coffey and 12M of garbage to us and some 2nds from that team to the Clippers. There's no real point in not being the 3rd or 4th worst team in the league instead of the 6th or 7th.
Where's the D?

This is obviously by far the most probable scenario but even if we finish 7 worse or 8 worse we will still have around 25-33% chance of keeping it.
Even with a winning streak, our odds should stays 20% and above.
The absolute worse case odds would be 14%. And this is if we can catch all of Brooklyn, Houston and Atlanta.

Re: Tank World Order (The Remix Vol. IV)
It's funny that Ainge took the late 1st but if the justification for very early 2nd argument instead of a very late 1st due to contract status is valid, then is Ainge an idiot? Different management styles. I prefer the 4 year guaranteed option. Its cheap anyways and "tradeable". Lot of contradictions in these transaction explanations.
