Promising game tonight. Signs of improvement.
Think he'd benefit from training with Redick to work on his footwork.

Btw, kinda funny this thread seems to only be active when Gradey drops stinkers in the gleague but its crickets when he has decent games.

He looked good today but his lack of strength showed when he was under the basket and missed some easy ones or grabbing offensive rebound

Great overall game

You can really see the improvement. Our development program is starting to show its chops.

A good strength and conditioning program for this kid is gonna do wonders for his game.

I hear Redick destroyed Quentin Grimes' game in the off-season.

Signs of improvement after such a short time span is promising. I had him on a two year timeline to becoming a usable bench player.

I laughed when the Raptors put Gradey on that "special plan" for two weeks. How much physical change can occur in two weeks? I swear they musta shipped Gradey to a covert facility and pumped him full of PEDs cause he is moving way way better on court and is noticable quicker.

That baby face is gonna turn into a manly jawline with a receding hairline in no time

In Dick's case, they didn't use PED's, they used Viagra, so it's not illegal

Really surprised at how much more comfortable he looks in such a short period of time. He’s still got work to do as does every rookie but I think he can be a good player in this league. He understands the game.

Criminal that GTJ is starting over him. No one is trading for GTJ unless it's expiring.

We need to develop Gradey. Guy has a motor, size and I think his D and shooting is just a matter of time and confidence

I keep seeing people make a comment about him being slow laterally but he seems to be half decent with his lateral quicks. He gets bullied when he gets to the spots, but he frequently beats guys to where they're going. He's not a great point of attack defender against primary guards but I feel like when he fills out a bit he won't be a guy you have to hide by any means. I think he'll also be a smart help defender.

I don't think he's that slow out there and he gives good effort but there's contact on every drive in the NBA and looking the way he does makes it impossible to guard anyone until he starts earning some more respect.

I had confidence in Gradey being a serviceable player for us this year if given the opportunity because he reads the game at a high level and he does a lot of little things that tend to go unnoticed while his three-point shooting was bound to turn around eventually. The defence is a work in progress and he clearly needs to work on his body a bit more, but I'm very impressed with how he has been playing over the past two weeks as he has looked like a legitimate rotation player.

He's been stringing good games. Good to see, looks like that special program Darko put him on has helped.

he's improving but not fouling at the end there was a precious-level play.

he needs to smarten up.

Over two weeks prior to Gradey Dick's "special assignment" when everyone thought the sky was falling I said the following:

"He has basketball talent, unfortunately the bump up playing against grown men is an obstacle right now which hopefully can be remedied with experience and some physical development. Gradey was and still is a flimsy athlete. Maybe with some additional reps and strength we will see more confident actions and movement on the court and then his natural talent as a shooter will return."

Gradey will become an acceptable team defender with time which will allow him to contribute in his overwhelming area of strength which is on offense. I'm not concerned. On top of that we will get steals, charges drawn and turnovers prevented due to his hustle and willingness to scrap which is what gave me confidence in him as a prospect as even if his defense is not there on certain nights these characteristics will help mitigate that.

So much of this forum had sadly written off Dick a long time ago, and now they have to eat it.

Right on time, he's cementing himself in the top 8-10 before the trade deadline.
