Some of the comparisons I’m seeing are weird. He’s prototypically an sg in size so he’s not og anunoby. Pj Tucker is another weird comp. He’s also way more fluid with his movements than these guys, he’s got good body control and an ability to finish inside and has good athleticism. His 3 has improved. Someone mentioned Norman Powell in another thread, I think that’s the closest comparison right now. Doesn’t have the ability to create his own shot and handle the ball as much as norm, but everything else from the athleticism to the size is pretty spot on. I guess defensively he’s better.

Haha I joked about him being our next Powell. His confidence is growing with his shot though so the development is interesting. He seems very much like a system guy to me though, not a scorer. I would compare RJ more to Powell because of those sweeping layups always going to the specific side. Neither will have that 3 point shot though, Powell was becoming elite there and we let him go for Gary Trent.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Agbaji came into the league as a shooter though so he has that potential. It’s actually amazing how norm as turned himself into an elite shooter considering he had no shot coming into the league. It makes you wonder why more people can’t do it. Gotta be mental. But yeah I miss norm.

The org has liked him since the draft process. I really hope we can sign him to a reasonable long term deal if he keeps this up. He reminds me of Danny Green glue piece that every winning team needs.

Google "Hind Rajab"

Not a stretch. Thats reality. They didnt develop him after only 1.5 years, gave up on him and decided to punt him for a 28th pick. Their fans hated this trade for that reason. A year ago he was labeled untouchable.

And we didn't develop Flynn in almost 4 years. And fans here hated the Kawhi trade

I don't understand why you are so willing to claim it was a crazy trade, he's a 4 year college player who has an insanely limited offensive game. He is not ever going to be a really good player, the best we can hope for is a solid 3+D, cept he averages 34% from 3. Maybe, just maybe, they traded him so early on, cause they identified him not being worth developing.

Damn bro doesn’t it get exhausting being so negative all the time?

His 3s has been on target for a while now. Can't believe this is the same player from last year during the tank. Feels like he hits all the corner open threes with ease.

After 11 games he's already over 33% of the way to his total number of three made all of last year.

I don't think he could have actually played any better than he has so far this year. His shooting numbers are obviously unsustainable but he's banked himself a very strong 11 game start here.

Darko effect. He's a good development coach.

I like how he's rewarding players with more PT when playing well and playing them less if they aren't on in a particular game.

I feel like Boucher is still so inconsistent and just taking up potential development playing time from Mogbo. I guess when Olynyk returns to play PF/C they will move Boucher.

Don't see why he can't be a 50% 3pt shooter from the corner and 35% from above the break. Just stick to catch and shoot and 1 dribble re-locate and he can make at least MLE money. Jordan Clarkson level money.

I always kind of felt like his skill set on offense is like danny green mixed with OG, but a lite version, but more with norm powell size
Just 8* years ago Andrea Bargnani was my franchise player, you MF'ers can't rain on my parade

Whatever the problem is, he makes the board a much less enjoyable place. Basically baiting arguments against anyone. I know he thinks he’s being a realist, but, Bobby and masai haven’t fielded this roster to make playoffs and compete this year. Moves in the future will be made. Patience is key in rebuilding. Being a realist right now is accepting we’re a below average, young but hard playing rebuilding team destined for a top ten pick, with flawed players, many of whom won’t be on the team in two years time. Most of this board has been able to grasp this and find some enjoyment in the season so far.

Happy to see Ochai having success so far this season.

I have no doubt two trades in 2 seasons impacted him. Everyone wants to feel wanted.

I’m sure the Raptors picking up his 4th year option was a moment of great relief for him.

If he can keep playing like this, there is no doubt a future for him in the league, if not Toronto.

Instead of crying about it, use the foe feature like I do.

I want this team to be bad, as we need a top 5 pick, I'm quite realistic about that. But hey, let me go back to last Feb and pull up other peoples posts as soon as a player starts playing better/worse for a handful of games

Numbers definitely aren't sustainable, but he's MUCH improved from last year, and even when he cools off a bit he still looks to have a spot. Hopefully we can see this across an entire season.
