Only issue is that I cant see him and Barnes sharing the court unless its at PF/C.

You need at least 2 shooters so either one of Scottie/Ingram are playing SG or CMB/Scottie are playing PF/C if you plan to play them together.

Just imagine him when he’s 22-23. He really might be our best prospect

Last year he couldn't move without fouling. He's made a big stride. I really wish his ran hard all the time. I see him dogging it on breaks when he could easily get back into the play too often. I wouldn't let him see an NBA minute until he breaks that.

i mean most here werent even sure if he would play summer league given his mcl injury, hes missed alot of time, also im assuming one might be a bit trepidatious coming off such a major injury.

he looks miles better than last year. still got some stuff to work on but great progress so far.

I noticed this last year as well. It's one thing if you're Zach Edey, but he's got wheels. They need to push him.

Lmao.

I think it’s overall a good strategy IMO (even if obviously Shooting is also important) but I am convince it’s easier to improve shooting compare to work ethic , character , length etc…

This is implying that there are no offensive players with good work ethic and character either. If shooting was that easy to improve, why do so many hard workers who apparently work on their shot year after year make no progress? Then you even have players like dick who are drafted as shooters but are only average at best in the league.

I don't believe in Shead. He isn't great on defense and his offense sucks too. There's a very clear pathway for Hepburn and Martin to become the back up PG next year. The poor FT shooting from Shead is concerning, we need consistency from there if he isn't going to knock down threes.

Chomche is ready for NBA minutes. It'll be the best way to develop him. I would hope we play him in 40-50 games this year to get him development time. The FT shooting from him was great to see he's nailing it.

Is this a real take? Chomche still looks raw and soft… i can understand not being that high on shead but he’s clearly better than Hepburn and Martin right now… Martin has limited handle and pg skills…

I’ll be honest, I expected Shead to kind of dominate here in summer league as lead ball handler. We’ll see what happens come regular season, still think he’s a good back up.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

I don’t think any of those 3 guys are our answer as a back up PG when we’re a legit playoff team.

Loved what I saw.

His offensive game will come around. Kid is special.

I know what I said earlier in this thread but after that second half I’m a CMB believer. He just looks like he’s gonna be good. Just gets it. Insane reaction time and processing speed.

Defensively he’s already nba calibre. It’s the offense that limits his potential. Idk what they projected him to become or if they drafted him because they wanted that kind of prospect to be able to play right away and help this current squad compete.

The more I watch him play the more I think the front office was gonna be okay with him not developing any offense. I think they drafted him over a project with potential because they wanted someone to help them win now.

They just obviously value things above shooting. A guy who can defend and play make but also shoot would be 100% a raptors pick
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

He's a 6'7 240 lbs dude, i didn't expect such a heavy guy be so fluid handling the ball.

What is the correlation between weight and ball handling

Would love to see Chomche more aggressive securing rebounds.

But his development has been unreal. If he can continue on the same development curve the next two summers, he’s an NBA player.

Who is our backup c this year? I’m guessing we’re going small ball… Boyles and mogbo probably gonna play together.

Quickley/barrett/ingram/barnes/poeltl
Shead/ochai/battle(dick)/boyles/mogbo

It'd be awesome for this new look bench mob to carry the Summer League team to a chip with the focus on defence and hustle.

I can see Jakobe's skillset being more valuable in the starting 5 than RJ's and forcing his way into the starting 5 which would be great
