Discussion will be a lot better once we know the draft order and the combine/workouts get underway.
But a fun hypothetical would be who do you draft if we pick 3rd?

So tough. I think I probably go Edgecombe for his ceiling. Ace being incapable of beating his guy off the dribble is concerning.

The hyperbole is just ...
can you stop trolling, you're supposed to lead by example here and you just use this place for your own personal entertainment. you're not dumb enough to interpret "generational rim running 5" as generational 5. there is a limitation to what the archetype of a rim running 5 can provide in terms of USG and efficiency on a basketball floor because they're not heavily involved in playmaking or isolated looks/post ups.
Stop making ridiculous claims and people will stop calling you out for it. Simples.
i don't make ridiculous claims, you take my claims and interpret them through your own ridiculous lens because you're either trolling or simply don't understand much about basketball. that's fine honestly but you need to stop putting words in my mouth.
edey had a 63.8% post up rate last year at purdue which is down to 16.3% with memphis. when i claim that "he could be shaq if used properly" that precisely means upping his post up rate to what it was at purdue and making him the centerpiece of the offense. i stand by that claim to eternity.
you don't know squat about edey's production splits because you don't even have access to that data yet are nitpicking and misinterpreting my posts and talking **** as usual

I think tre Johnson is the best offensive player of the three. Could be the bucket getter we really need.

A ton of talent and important players for their franchises there. If a big is the BPA, no reason not to draft them in the lottery.
The point of contention is if he’s actually BPA or if it’s a Tidjane type pick where the FO is really high on the guy even though he isn’t actually that great compared to comp.
That's not what PSubs was saying, he said if you're not getting a centre that's consensus Top 2/3, there's no point drafting one at all before the 20's. Regardless of what you think of Maluach specifically, I don't think that's a good overall draft philosophy.
Really BPA isn't an exact science either because there are busts. At #1 Cooper Flagg is BPA. Then is Harper really BPA at #2, probably. After that it's a crap shoot.
What I am saying after the top 3, you're just as likely going to get a similar big in the rest of the lottery as you are later in the draft. Also likely it's unlikely that he's a jumbo creator (except for Sabonis and Scottie but they can play PF). Like look a Zach Edey in the top 10 vs Quinten Post in the 2nd round.

At this point I don't even know if they're a slam dunk 3rd and 4th, which is why it's an interesting discussion. I think you could argue for Fears/Queen as those are two players who could potentially be true lead guys on offense with their scoring/playmaking chops. And I don't know if you can say that about VJ and especially Ace who may be primarily 2nd/3rd options.
And I think with the draft, that's what you're trying to aim to get, those cornerstone-type of players.
I'm not convinced on Tre either as he's more of a volume scorer right now and might be better off as an off-ball shooter.

He is a 1 of 1, the greatest interior scorer in college basketball history. Just because the league has moved far away from that doesn't mean there can't come along a player who is so immensely talented at old school ball that you can outscore the 3 point shooting teams by riding him.
What you're essentially saying is he's going to have a Shaq impact on that game?
Offensively, it's very possible provided that he is given the touches and gets the NBA whistle. His post dominance is undeniable, it's not a fluke. Those long push/hook shots that either go in or seemingly always take soft bounces off the rim are not a fluke. It's talent.
I'm 100% sold on the scoring the question will be can he evolve as a passer with NBA spacing and process when and who to pass to more effectively.Duffman100 wrote:

I think he'd probably be the lead choice but you'd be doing it for his defensive potential, right? Because I don't think he'll ever someone to really lead an offense with his ball skills. What do you think his ceiling could be?

I heard he too struggles to get to the basket and the free throw line. Is that true? Because I don’t know how good you can really be if all you do is take jumpers and 3s. To be a star you have to be a 3 level scorer. Also Raptors have enough guys who can’t get to the basket off a stand still. I’m over those players lol

Yes. I've read it multiple times. You've also gone back and forth and denied you've said it, and then doubled down and said you said it, then again said you didn't say it.
Even claiming that Edey would be Shaq on offensive end if he got the touches is still ridiculous. He's the most dominant player in history. I like Edey, he's fine. But there is zero way he would produce the same numbers.

Honestly I have no idea. I usually like some players but this draft I don't know. I'll be placing faith in the FO. I'd love for the pick to be Ace if they thought he was that guy.

you've read it multiple times and conclude that me saying that it's POSSIBLE that edey could have a shaq-like impact PROVIDED THAT he is given the touches (hasn't been given enough touches yet) AND gets the NBA whistle (.293 FTr) is equivalent to me stating that "edey IS shaq".
