OT: Visiting Toronto-things to do?

Hi Raptors fans. I'm wondering if I could get some tips on what to do on a trip to Toronto this summer. We have some ideas - Niagara Falls, a Blue Jays game, the St. Lawrence Market area - but are there any other essential sights you'd recommend? Thanks much for any help.

-Check out the PATH, world's largest underground system I believe
-Go to beach on the island, or some other cleaner beaches but you'll need to drive like 1-2 hours north for that.
-Check out Kelso Park in Milton, take the GO bus to milton, i believe its 13 dollars.
-Lots of funny things happening on Dundas Square, watch out for that

You'll get more specific answers if you tell the date and more about the people going/age. Some Chicago fan asked near the end of the season and he got great advice.

CN Tower = waste of time at least in my opinion as the lineups in the summer are insane so avoid that one. other than that, what ppl above say is pretty spot on. maybe if you like soccer you can check out TFC???

It will be in June, and we're all 22, taking a post-grad road trip.

Thanks for the tips so far. If you remember the name of the thread hsb, I could just look it up.

Centre Ville - An island with parks, beaches, kids rides and other fun things. Good if you have young kids or are with a big family.

Canadas Wonderland - Again, good if your with kids, or a teenager.

TFC Game - TFC fans are just as crazy as Raptor ones.

Jays Game - Not very fun, but still a pretty cool experience.

CN Tower - Lines may be really long, but again, it is the experience that matters.

You can also go to down town Toronto and visit some of the hottest clubs in North America. You'd be surprised at some of the girls here in Toronto during the summer. Its almost like your in California lol.

Plus, you can visit Rasho. He lives in a quiet neighbourhood, not going to say where.

Edit: Ok, just read your last post. Center Ville isnt where you want too be. Wonderland is always good to go looking for some cute girls. The CN tower I found to be a waste of time. Nothing special.
Id say just stick to the attractions in down town Toronto. There are a lot of beaches, and parks. June is a perfect time by the way.

My advice? Avoid Toronto at all costs from June 25-27. The G-20 Summit here is on June 26-27 and unless your post-grad trip includes inhaling tear gas and shouting anarchist slogans, you won't have much fun and you might have trouble getting into a hotel. On the other hand, you might pick up female protesters who are either gorgeous but disheveled, or dykes. The actual summit is June 26-27, but the hoardes will likely arrive a day or two earlier. The Blue Jays series against the Phillies which overlaps the summit has been shifted to Philadelphia.

Come a week earlier, or a week later. July is festival and concert month here. The Just for Laughs Festival begins around July 6. The Jazz Festival begins June 25 (good luck to them) and continues to July 4. Pride Week is June 25-July 4, where we give the finger to Sarah Palin and the social conservatives.

Thanks guys. We might check out a TFC game if possible. Good advice on the G-20, dagger. Violent political protests are indeed not what we had in mind for a vacation.

Steam Whistle brewery tour is always fun if you like beer. One thing I've wondered about Toronto/Canada...the Toronto Sun newspaper you guys have has this "Sunshine Girl" segment. Sometimes they'll post pretty risque pictures. Do these pictures also appear in the print version of the Toronto Sun? That is pretty ballsy if so...I don't think any mainstream newspaper would have the stones to do that here.

They only post one picture in the actual newspaper and its not usually that good

Depending on how old you are (and those you're be around during your visit), Niagara on the Lake is an amazing place to see in the summer/fall. You can set up appointments to some of the local wineries around there for wine/cheese tasting while seeing some of the sights -- consumes an entire day without costing much and usually pleases the woman.

The Casino is within the same area, and some amazing spas/resorts to stay at.
