There's a lot that Riley knows that we don't.

Solid deal, not even close to Presti's best though.

He is without a doubt my favourite GM in the league by a WIDE margin.

unlikely scenario. They're both ... to use a popular moniker around these parts... Batmans.

so all we will get back if Bosh goes to Mia is Beasley and our pic back.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

Wasn't there a Miami poster on here yesterday who was adamant that Riley wouldn't just give the pick away fro nothing? Well, he not only gave the pick away, but he gave a useful player away with it.

You have to look at the big picture.

Riley has some big FA signings up his sleeve. I'm quite confident Amare will end up there.

I don't see Miami going after Bosh. They wouldn't be giving away picks if that was the case. They are obviously targeting other players.

I'm seeing Amare & JJ in the picture.

They must pretty sure they can sign a good FA(s) if they are willing to give up their first and a young guard in Cook for a little bit of cap space. Interesting.

Another first rounder out of our sites. BC is called the most active GM in the bizz. Right now I'm slightly disappointed that he has done anything yet. Unless he does something on draft day.

the NBA really needs to fix stuff like this for the next CBA. only in the NBA do you have trades where the talent and pick is sent one way, in exchange for salary relief. in no other sport dyou see kurt thomas and a 1 for a 2.

Am I the only one who think Miami is in big trouble? Why would anyone go there? And why would Wade stay? They have absolutely no talent. They have Haslem, Chalmers, whatever they get for Beasley, and enough money for two max FAs. That's not a good team at all.

Sam Presti is unbelievable. One of, if not THE best GM in the league.

All you need is Wade.

Wade and Lebron are the only true Superstars in this free agent frenzy. Bosh will follow one of them to their team.

If Miami doesn't get Bosh, you can be sure they are getting Amare, Joe Johnson, or Boozer + more.

Did you want to use the cap space we don't have to acquire Cook and the pick? Or perhaps you're wishing that we could used our #13 to send a small salaried player to OKC for their #32?

Quit whining.

If you are implying that so far there have not been any trades or movements that suited the raps and warranted participation, then maybe I could agree with you. If however your underlying view is that we don't make a trade unless we come out on top, then I would remind you that we have some urgent matters (Hedo, trading of either of the pgs, etc) that need to be resolved as soon as possible, and by possible continually waiting for the perfect situation to arise, we might inadvertently miss the best opportunity.

May I add, none of your afore-mentioned reasons for my original comments ever came under consideration. Mine was just a statement expressing anxiety in anticipation of Raps news of a trade; certainly not "whining".
