[POLL] Ed Davis will play in the rookies ASG?

OK, we've seen nothing from ED
Only a lot of SL games and some NCAA's highlight
And this year we have a lot of great C and PF
Griffin, Favors, Cousins, Aminu, Aldrich, Udoh, Monroe
Actually i think this is difficult
But i have great hopes, he has a lot of offensive skills, pass the ball, good rebounder, excellent shotblocker, he seemed a decent defender too
He will not be a starter in the first months, but i think he can be a starter next year
Maybe in the last months of this season too

He has got to be, he will likely have heavy minutes to show his stuff. Sure that doesent warrant an automatic entry, but supposedly he was a Top 5 talent who for some reason slid down the draft to #13.

Man People it would be Niceness to see D-Roz and Davis in the rookie game.

If Amir slips up which I hope he doesn't then Davis will pounce and then I will have to change my Fantasy players.

I think he will. He has a great shot at playing a lot of minutes this year on the accout we suck.

Aminu and Udoh probably won't be much competition for any of the other guys.

I doubt he gets in with Favors, Cousins, and Griffin in the mix. Those three are all better talents and will likely get more minutes and a bigger opportunity than Ed.

And isn't Udoh injured for a few months? He'll start out slow. But that's also what I'm expecting from Ed, he needs to get stronger physically to compete in this league. His injury last season has slowed him down, and making this game would be a tough feat for him, but I'm obviously more concerned with how he'll play in year 2 when he gets stronger and has a year of experience under his belt. I think he'll miss the game as a rook, but will make the game as a sophmore.

I doubt it.

Griffin, Cousins and Monroe are probably most likely to put up strong numbers. Then you have "rookies" like Erdem, Asik, Splitter, who have some pro experience. Splitter especially will get minutes. Then there's Aldrich and Favors. Then there's some college seniors that tend to have an easier time getting minutes, like Travis Booker, Pat Patterson, Damion James.

Then there's always surprises. No one would've put Taj Gibson or Jonas Jerebko in the rookie game this time last year.

Last year was plenty of PG/SG but very poor with PF/C

There's 96 mins at the frontcourt spots and Bargs, Amir and Davis should get the bulk of those mins while Andersen/Dorsey/Evans fight for the scraps.

If Bargs defense and rebounding haven't improved then I hope the coaching staff scales back his mins a bit (maybe around 32) with Amir getting around 28 (more if he manages his fouls better) leaving 36 mins for the rest. That's plenty of mins for Davis to put in work. Can't see him getting less than 20 mins so I think he should make it.

BTW, anyone else excited to see a lineup of Barbosa/DD/Weems/Davis/Amir in a RnG setting? That would be very entertaining to watch on both ends of the floor. Man, just think if we added a blue chip PG to that lineup like Irving/Rubio and if DD/Weems could extend their range (shoot about 33% from 3) that would be bananas.

Not high on Davis. I think he has the 16 foot jump shot, and able to run the floor, but he would be in foul trouble most of the time, and might play less than 20 mins.

Number of rebounds and blocks would be the key for him.

Only for a idiot that love dunks and don't know basketball
With that backourt Amir and ED don't receive the ball

P.s. Fantastic! You're a genius!
The 2 best players on the bench!!
Put ED on the bench too and let Andersen play

Seriously you need to chill out. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant--it would be exciting to watch, not that that line-up should be starting.

Why would he be in foul trouble?

From an article on his college numbers from RR:

The best stat is his personal foul rate – only 2.6 per 40 min. Outstanding given that he also recorded 4.0 blocks per 40.

I know what he meant
and i'm really scared thinking at the Young gunz on the floor in the same moment
Especially DD+Weems

1. Clearly you have no concept of defense/rebounding (well you are a bargs nuthugger so I'm not surprised) or else you would've seen the benefits of that 5.

2. You either didn't read the rest of the post or left it out on purpose (because you are a douche) where I specifically said A) "in a RnG setting" B) with a high-end PG C) DD/Sonny adding range D) "entertaining"

3. Saying I don't know basketball is actually a compliment coming from you, you are a Bargnani fan after all. I would start worrying about my understanding of the sport if you and I agreed on anything basketball related. So thanks!

Don't worry, Bargs will get his touches.

LOL. Although I've decided to give Bargs his "shot" this season it's people like Appel that make it very hard to stay in that frame of mind.
