NBA League Pass related questions

Post#1 » by snapcracklepape » Mon Oct 4, 2010 7:23 pm

Hey guys!

Was thinking about getting the Choice package for League Pass this year. Just not sure of what teams I should pick. I live in Toronto so I know the Raptors games get blacked out, so I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for teams.

So far I got

Thunder, Heat, and Lakers

Help a brotha!

Use Hotspot Shield and you can get past the game blackouts even if youre in Toronto

Heat have 25 games on national TV and Im pretty sure that all the good matchups will be on National TV.

I would pick Phoenix, Toronto, Thunder, Lakers, Heat, Boston and Orlando

One thing you have to be aware about is that all national TV games are blacked out for everybody, no way to get around that... All the good teams will have a lot of national TV games, so you get the picture... Its quite likely you'll miss over a quarter of Heat and Laker games due to blackout restrictions...

If you're okay with that, then go for it... Personally I think its a waste of money since those teams are on nearly every week on TNT/ABC/ESPN anyway.. I like to pick up and coming teams who probably won't be on national TV that much but will be really fun to watch so I get my money's worth... A team like that this season is the Wizards..

Im wondering the same thing..id rather pay only 110 and get 7 teams ill actually watch then paying way more and not using it to watch teams like T-Wolves, Grizzlies etc.

Im a cavs fan first but also a raptors fan since i live in canada and get all their games here.. but for my 7 teams, i got 6 set in stone but im still debating on the last one

1. Cavs
2. Heat (Yes i hate them but will still be interesting to watch them fail(hopefully))
3. Lakers
4. thunder
5. Celtics
6. Magic
7. ? Bulls, Nuggets, Suns, any suggestions?

Wait a bit before choosing teams.. You don't have to choose all 7 teams right off the bat, you can choose a few and still watch.. At any point in the season you can add the rest of the teams..

That's what I should have done last year, but I was stupid and chose all 7 immediately... It resulted in a couple of dud teams I didn't even bother to watch and some surprising teams and players I wanted to follow and wished I would have chosen, like Tyreke and Sacramento, and Milwaukee..

Do we start choosing on the 26th? I just ordered, and can't find where to pick my teams.

No, the first time you open the actual League Pass BB window, you'll be prompted to choose teams...

Can you give instructions on how this works for the computer dummies among us?

Assuming it still works (HotSpot no longer works too well for Hulu...), all you do is start the program up. It runs in the background and filters your connection through a proxy, so for all League Pass Broadband knows you're actually in Missouri or New York or whichever proxy it selects. It's pretty simple, actually. You'll have the option to tweak and specify with HotSpot (again, assuming it works) but it's not really necessary.

Download this
'
http://hotspotshield.com/

It changes your IP to a US based provider

Just turn it on when you want to watch the game, and it should work.

The only disadvantage is that it has a lot of ads and stuff. There is no spyware or anything like that, but it gets annoying after a while.

So, try this first. It lets you watch TV shows from US websites without the ads or anything like that. If it works with League Pass, let me know. If that doesnt work, use Hotspot Shield

You can read up on proxy servers on google and then use any of these:

^^ To add to that, once League Pass BB is up and running, turn off HotSpot shield as this will have a slight impact on your stream.. You can still watch as long as you don't shut the program off..

For those people who want to watch on a television, you run an HDMI cable between your computer and your HDTV and watch in pretty good quality.. I did this and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the experience...

Also, you have to clear your cookies before you start Hotspot Shield everytime. If you don't wanna clear all your cookies, just search for "NBA" and delete those ones.

Basically... clear cookies, start hotspot shield, launch League Pass player, exit hotspot shield

I think watching the nba LP on TV is cheaper. Ordering super sports package on rogers cable will be cheaper than LP on internet. It takes less than $ 30 per month. Besides basketball games, you are also able to watch hockey, football, ...

yea awesome news about this hotspot shield thing, 200$ for all the hd channels is tuff, this is gonna be dope, just wanna watch the games, raptors avoiding the black out is nice news,

1. raptors
2. heat
3. thunder
4. boston
5. orlando
6. new york

im only sold on raps, heat, thunder, but it sucks missing the tnt thursdays, they will always show the best games and then heat will be blacked out no matter what.

Return to Toronto Raptors
