Great idea for a thread. This could be a much better national team in a couple years.

Oh, you're welcome guys. I ran the idea past the mods about a month ago and most of them were cool with it. This is kind of a fun thing for me, but everyone is more than welcome to pitch in. You guys will be shocked how many Canadians are playing D1 this year; if I had to guess, I'd say that 1 in 5 teams has at least 1 Canadian on their roster and several have multiple canucks, like my favorite team in the world Gonzaga, who has three, it would've been four, but Bol Kong forgot about the student part of student athlete. Anyway, there are no games tonight, but a few tomorrow and as someone else mentioned Friday will be nuts.

While watching the Pitt game last night, it was mentioned that Khem Birch has given a verbal commitment to Jamie Dixon. Pitt has been a very good program the last decade or so, but they usually do not get elite recruits coming in.

Thanks for doing this sonrise, this is great.
I've included a link in Yuri's Forum Directory, so if any of you want to find this thread quickly, just refer to that thread.

Birch is going to be a stud; he had several awesome games this summer playing for the junior national team, and one game he had 28 points, 20 rebounds and 8 blocks.

If he grows to about 6'10 and adds about 40 lbs to his frame, which he is very capable of, he very well may be the first Canadian to ever go #1 in the draft. He's got a motor that won't quite and the desire to keep getting better; he's the anti-Bargs. lol

Well, you'd be the one to know, that's for sure. I'm actually surprised that it isn't more, like how many people knew that Cal Irvine has a kid from Markham, Ont? I guess when the coach did an in home visit with Adam Folkers parents he had to Meet The Folkers; thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week, try the prime rib and be sure to tip your waitress.

They said he was #3 in the 2012 class (not sure whose rankings they were using) so a high pick if he develops is well within the realm of possibilities.
Pitt seems to be an interesting pick. They do push systems and d, more then some elite teams.

He's playing at NAIT in the ACAC. Which is below the CIS.

Yeah, that's it. CIS is for four years schools; NAIT is a two year, I believe
