DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points in each of Toronto's two games in London. He is averaging 21.1 points per game in the seven games since the break.

“His game is starting to evolve even more than we probably expected it to just because he’s had the basketball and he’s had the experience of having the ball in his hands a lot more, and he’s playing a lot more minutes than we thought he would,” Jay Triano said. “It looks effortless sometimes just the way he creates a shot.”

DeRozan could see a lot more of the ball in late-game situations.

“I love it. I love it,” DeRozan said of getting the ball down the stretch. “It’s an adrenaline rush. It’s fun. It’s definitely a challenge.”

No better way to learn than to go through it.

He is the only player on the Raps that can consistently take his man of the dribble, he should be taking more late game shots.

Finaly!! Should be fun to watch :D
He's going to struggle at times for sure but still I'm happy were allowing him to learn like this. We should have a very good player on our hands come next year!!

Where does Triano say that Demar will get more late-game shots in that wiretap?

Great News. Hope D-Roz gets a Chance to win us some games. Really thought that He should of gotten the chance in London and not Bargs.

Bargnani has hit some big shots in the past.. way more than derozan. Im guessing he still needs to prove himself in that dept

Did anybody see that stat that they showed on ABC during the Lakers/Spurs game? It was a stat about the worst teams from the field in the final 10 seconds of the 4th quarter or overtime when trailing by 3 or less. Basically, the Heat suck (1-18 from the field), but guess who's number 2 with a glorious 1-14 from the field???? Maybe this changes things. :dontknow:

Good. He's shown that he can either drive for the two, hit the mid range, or even kick it out to the open man. Giving the ball to DD is good for his confidence.

What? I'd say that's his biggest weakness (from an iso standpoint).

Barbosa, Bayless & even Bargnani can blow by their man more effectively than Demar can.

Edit: BTW, I'm all for putting Demar in this stiuation.

Bargs? Not even! But I do agree Barbs and Bayless are better taking their guy off the dribble then DD.

Bargnani has been able to blow by C's much easier than Demar has been able to blow by SG's in an iso situation. I do think he'll get better, but he has to improve.....a lot.

The only time DD gets by his man is when he uses the spin move lol.

Might be true but DeRozan does drive with a lot more regularity, and especially without driving/settling for a ridiculous mid-stride shot-attempt in hope of avoiding contact like Andrea does far too frequently. DeRozan can get better at absorbing contact, but I think the building blocks are there
