Updated the thread title so hopefully people can decide on who they side with if anyone.

I don't see how you can be on either side. They're multi millionaires fighting over more money. Its not like they're not going to be able to feed their families because of this.

And we'll all have extra money to feed our families. Win-win-win.

I never believed that the league was losing money in the first place. I don't trust David Stern. With the NBA gaining more international fans it seems like the owners want more money.

I watch basketball to see players like Lebron and Kobe, not Jerry Buss or Mark Cuban, the players make this league owners have no right to demand a 50-50 split along with changes in the system.

Without Jerry Buss, Mark Cuban or any other owners, you wouldn't get to see your favourite players in the NBA. It's the owners league fair and simple, anyone that doesn't see that is delusional.

Owners, because in this situation the private Player's Union has no competition to help keep its demands in check. When this is all sorted out the players will wish they took this offer.

If it wasn't for David Stern the NBA wouldn't have international fans.

Its tough to support either side. If you support the players, try reading Etan Thomas' joke of an article on ESPN. They're being represented by idiots

Read it here: http://espn.go.com/espn/commentary/story/_/id/7223340/etan-thomas-questions-nba-labor-negotiations. Keep in mind while reading, Etan Thomas made 1.2m over the span of last season and logged just 89 minutes

You mean if it wasn't for Michael Jordan the NBA wouldn't have international fans.

No one else would have bothered with international markets?

The NBA would have to come before the fans. You can't be a fan of something that doesn't exist.

If I had to pick between the two, it would be the NBA. This is mostly because of the way the stars of this generation have conducted themselves over the past few years.

At the end of the day, I'm on the fans side. Particularily the fans of small & mid market teams.

Yeah, people have to buy the product for it to continue to exist. There are lots of extinct leagues out there.

Regardless of how both side negotiate, I think at this movement the players are really getting into loser mode. They are risking themselves to get a much worse deal at the end.
