did he win?

yup, was on his back the whole first round, but didnt get hit much. And in the second he stayed on his feet and Sonnen couldnt come close with his striking, he fell down missing a spinnig backfist and Silva popped him with a knee and dominated thereafter. TKO

Gray is always slow to recover...with the NBA playing at a faster pace and quicker 4 and 5...I can't stand the slow rotation of Gray...

It's helpful to have a guy with his size for post defence when you go against players like Bynum and Dwight though and he probably sets the best screens of anyone on our team

Since no one has posted it and everyone is so curious as to Gray's contract. Pretty sure this news is real.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reported that Aaron Gray has agreed to a two-year deal with the Raptors. The six-year veteran started in 40 games for Toronto last season, averaging 3.9 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 16.6 MPG in a total of 49 games. Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun tweeted that he expects Gray to receive the team's "room exception", which should be about $2.5MM annually

god hes slow and clueless, can't catch a ball to save his life and the ball slips out of his hands multiple times during a game going for rebounds. His post d is nothing special, in fact it may be below average. Only positive he brings is his daily calorie intake.

We got absolutely crushed when Gray was on the floor last season. On a per minute basis, he had one of the worst plus minus numbers on the team. He wasn't quite as bad as Rasual Butler, but it was close.

His individual numbers weren't good either. His opponent PER was 23.3. I know that 82games.com data isn't all that reliable, but I believe that kind of result. He got torched over and over and over again on defense, and we all know that he's not a scorer. The only thing he did well last season was rebound the ball. He was one of the very best rebounders in the NBA, in fact. If you look at his overall impact on the team, though, I don't see why management would possibly be willing to send him back out onto the court again.

I really hope that he ends up in a 6th big man role, and never plays. Awful, awful signing.

It says 2 years, 5 million above.

If so, it's a pretty good signing. Big body who can kinda play, start until Val gets bigger.

Like this signing... he was solid for us and he knew his role... I hope we bring back Magloire to. He's been a great influence on our lineup.

During the season Casey had to try different lineups with all the injuries and losses suffered by this team. Ed Davis and Amir starting never really worked out and that's because both of them were 6'9. When they had Gray + Davis, Gray + Amir, and Gray + Bargnani, the team played much better. He was just a big body on the court which is what the team needed.

1. who give a crap about contracts - cap space/contracts mean nothing to us.
2. gray can play 15-20 mins a night at center. the rest of the time, we can play amir + bargs + ed at the 5/4 until jonas is ready to contribute.

Well, that and he's enormous. Knowing your role and being like, 7'1'' and 270 is a good combo. He's slow and isn't very skilled, but if it's 2.5 million per season, I don't really care. He will start and play like 15 minutes a game, tops.

Nice. $2.5 mil to give us an option defending big 5's is a great deal.

Good signing, but bad for Valancuinas and Davis.
You know Casey is playing him over them. And I don't know how they expect to make it to the playoffs with that.

He should start over Jonas. So that he can defend the opponent's better post players and soak up early fouls. There is no point in throwing Jonas to the lions if he's not ready. And by lions i mean the refs just as much the players. Those dudes love calling early nitpicky fouls on young bigs for some reason.

Good signing.

Aaron has earned a contracts with his hustle and smarts.

But........I really dont want Gray or Valanciunas starting for the raps next season

Amir..... Ok

Trade... yes

I still expect the Raps to trade for an allstar wing.

if matching up against jonas when training camp starts, slow footed gray can outplay him and start at C this year, i will have so little hope in jonas...huge gray hater here and cant believe he got some many minutes over ed and amir last year
What is basketball.....basketball is life!
