Aaron Gray was pretty decent as a starter when Bargnani was out and he was paired with Amir. Him and Bargnani in the starting lineup were horrible together. They were both too slow to provide help defense and JJ was the one running around helping. If JJ is no longer the starter, the starters are going to get killed defensively and the bench will have to bring us back every game to even have a chance.

Bargs with his mobility, base, and size is an ideal centre (in today's NBA)... but unfortunately he doesn't rebound and play help D. So... as a result, we settle for this.

you want to play him at 5 just out of spite? he's clearly better at 4 not sure the problem now that bosh is gone

BC catering so much he drafted bargs with a 6 time allstar playing his position taking his highpost spots on the court, who doesn't compliment bargs weakness at all, then when bosh is gone he uses all his draft picks and cap and trades to bring in wings and guards and spends nothing on a center to compliment bargs game until like 7 years later he drafts jonas

I don't mind this at all. Gray played within his own abilities last season. Big body. He'll start but will be replaced by Val depending on how his progress is coming along. Gray will be Barg's Rasho but for Jonas in 06-07.

after re-signing Gray (which i dont have a problem with) our rotation looks pretty crowded.

Lowry / Calderon
Derozan / Ross
Fields / Kleiza / JJ
Bargnani / Amir / Davis / Acy
Gray / Val / Magloire (Casey mentioned him mentoring Val so i expect him to be back)

so obviously one of Ed/Amir are on the block along with likely Calderon & J.Johnson. What i expect to happen is BC brings in a SF and has Fields back up the SF position, why?

- Kleiza isnt known for his defense but he can shoot
- J.Johnson is in Caseys dog house, he can play defense but cant shoot

Fields does both, hes basically a mixture of the 2 which is why i think he was brought in. Casey probably doesnt like Kleizas lack of defense and he certainly hasnt loved J.Johnson for whatever reason. I expect Kleiza to be an amnesty candiate if not involved in a trade.

i think our rotation ends up being.

Lowry / PG (whoever either we get one in a trade for a SF or we sign one)
Derozan / Ross
SF / Fields
Bargnani / Amir or Davis / Acy
Gray / Val / Magloire

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I just think he'd create more matchup problems at the 5. but he doesn't rebound so yea.."he's better at the 4".

Do you even watch? He was good and really glad he's back. Not just 'serviceable'. Magloire is a scrub/a$$ kisser.

The most important question though is, "IS Darren happy about this"? :D

Solid Signing. Knows Casey's system and is a big boy.

I don't see any of Ed or Amir being gone.

Bargs/Ed/Amir/Grey/Val is a good rotation. Injuries always happen and it's always better to have lots of depth at PF and Centre.

So I'm on double-secret probation for a joke post and guys are getting away with anti-white comments like this every day. It's unbelievable the comments that come from the non-white people on this board that are ignored. Let's get Jeremey Lin!!! Even though he's a flash in the PAN.

You forgot Acy, and even Kleiza, who if kept could play some minutes at the 4

to be clear, I do like Gray. He was solid last year. I just rather have Amir start over him . I feel Gray is good only against certain matchups and as a 4th big in the rotation.

I also rather have a faster pace mobile offence especially with Lowry now.... Amir is more suited for that type of offence.
