Since posters are always interested in jerseys, I thought we'd have a design contest. Depending on the number of jerseys that are submitted, we may do a voting bracket a la March Madness.

First things first. The rules:

1. Let's keep things serious. Don't submit joke designs
2. You can submit as many different designs as you like
3. Submit both a home and away jersey
4. I suggest we work with the context of 3 categories:
a. Modern design
b. Vintage design
c. Design/Logo that takes the name "Raptors" in any direction you see fit (airplanes, birds, etc)

Although I like the idea of the airplane, I just don't see it happening with our history and the fact that what are we going to have for a mascot? A dude flying through the arena? Would be cool but doubt they go that route lol

Stick with Raptors and red, white, black but fix the logo and of course the jerseys.

Anyone else remember that Raptors ticket commercial? "It's Rapture... it's RAPTORS!" always thought that was kinda weird....

I forget who it was, but a few years ago someone created a really nice black and red, maple leaf themed jersey. One of the better mock ups I've seen. Too bad I didn't save the design.

I don't know if I can make a serious design using MS paint.

Any hunting bird: eagle, owl, hawk, falcon ... they are all raptors. (Scratch hawks, already taken.)

What is a raptor? A raptor is a bird of prey. The word raptor comes from the Latin root that means "to seize and carry away", and is assigned to any bird that kills with its feet. Hawks, eagles, falcons, osprey, and owls are all raptors.

I like the claw logo with the basketball. The only problem I have with our current jerseys are the silver stripes under the armpits and the width of the blocks that run down the sides and around the back of the waist. If they cleaned that up I think the jersey would be much nicer.

I don't think you necessarily need a dinosaur or an airplane on the jersey, just like our current jersey which says Toronto on it.

This is a great idea, we can possibly push this or present it to MLSE to show them what real jersey should look like, not the amateur crap they've been marketing all these years.

theyll just steal the ideas and not give credit.

don't have photoshop, so i had to use an online template without editing... but maybe someone with skills can sharpen this up. basically, i like the claw logo (but the white border needs to be softened/altered so maybe it's just an outline of the four shapes- each claw and the ball), the red, and the sharp 'claw mark' sides w/similar accents on the shorts... i also like going 'toronto' instead of 'raptors'. but just one man's opinion. maybe i need to pull out the old comp. and do some hardcore ms painting lol

i don't remember that. but i do remember an old conan o'brien skit where conan's old announcer asked him if he was ready for the rapture: the toronto rapture 2004-2005 season
