Ridnour or Maynor would be 10X better. We need one more big I think more importantly. This is good insurance at pg though.

What about this?

Kind of surprise that people here have major hang ups on 2nd round picks. It's not that difficult to acquire them. Many teams trade their 2nd round picks for cash on draft day.

Pretty sure the Telfair trade will be going thru at the trade deadline today as BC is a trigger happy person. Unfortunately, this is probably the only minor trade will happen in Raptorsland today. Btw I never like this Telfair trade idea!

Telfair is really bad. He's one of the worst players on the Suns's bench. Lucas is not a long-term solution but burning an asset, even if it is a small asset, on a guy with no upside and isn't a clear upgrade would be dumb.

I have no problem with Haddadi though.

Can you name me some good 2nd round players in the last 5 years?

BC at it again -- bleeding assets for no particular reason. Telfair is **** terrible. I'd rather stick with Lucas, who incidentally we're paying real money to. Sigh, BC is such an unbelievable clown.

BC treating 2nd Round picks like Trade Kickers. He loves giving them away.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

I would prefer Maynor, but somebody has to bring even a tiny bit of order to the utter chaos and rampant individualism we saw last night, and if Casey won't, then Telfair is better than nothing. And no, I don't like Lucas as a point guard, he's a combo guard with limited court vision and passing skills, but who can hit a three point shot.

Another thing is a Haddadi/Telfair swap does save us 200,000 next year (Haddadi has that much guaranteed)

Not a lot but still

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

It's what they represent, not the actual asset value. It's a stab in the dark, a shot, a chance to fill out your roster on the cheap with NBA ready players instead of overpaying to keep mid-level draft picks or free agents. Basically, the second round pick is useless to how Bryan Colangelo chooses to build a perennial losing team.

If BC had any history of acquiring picks or even taking second round draft choices seriously, you're right, it's not a big deal.

Maynor's not all the way back from his ACL yet. I really, really liked his game before he went down.

2007 - Carl Landry, Glen Davis, Ramon Sessions, Josh McRoberts, Marc Gasol
2008 - Pekovic, Chalmers, Deandre Jordan, Omer Asik, Luc Mah ba moute, Dragic,
2009 - Dejuan Blair, Jonas Jerebko, Chase Budinger
2010 - Landry Fields, Devin Ebanks, Lance Stephenson, ANDY RAUTINS !!!!
2011 - Kyle Singler, Chandler Parsons

2012 and 2011 may easily have more to add to the list but 2nd rounders typcially need a bit o time to shine. Not saying the odds are great to get a gem in the 2nd but I'd rather keep the pick an take my shot especially since its for a backup expiring point gaurd on a team that is a long shot to make the playoffs. why not take a chance on a D-league young guy and see what happens.

Pek, Chalmers, DeAndre Jordan, Asik, Mbah a Moute, Dragic, Cunningham, Blair, Jerebko, Meeks, Thornton, Danny Green, Fields, Lance Stephenson, Singler, Parsons, Isiaah Thomas.

That's just from 2008 to 2011. A shot at guys like that is worth more than half a season of a 3rd string PG on a lot of teams.

I don't understand why going after a guy who struggles to shoot 40% on a yearly basis is a good move.
