Rebranding the Toronto Raptors (Updated designs on p. 7)

After reading and digesting the countless redesign threads on this board (and being inspired after seeing Los Manos' Huskies design especially) I've decided to give it a go. However, while everyone is advocating for the team to change identities, I've done the exact opposite.

Let me know your thoughts, and enjoy reading my design process.

The skyline is genius! So much talent on this board.

Great idea incorporating the skyline, but not an overall fan of the Logo. However, I am also one of those people that would like the franchise to rid itself from a name based of a 90s movie fad.

Great work, but it doesn't really look more aggressive. The raptor could just as easily be smiling. Maybe change up the eyes a little bit more? But I love the skyline, that's fantastic.

Another idea if keeping the Raptor name is to focus more on the bird of prey meaning. You can come up with a more fierce logo or find another way to keep the claw, which I really like.

A little cartoonish for me, but you're definitely talented. I LOVE the skyline as the teeth, that's an amazing idea. But for some reason the head on view of the Raptor looks weird to me. Overall I think MLSE needs to look for talent on this board.

A Toronto Raptors coat-of-arms logo idea.

Hey man, love the hard work you put into this (you got And1'd)
That being said, I personally do not like this logo.
It resembles more of an alien /w fangs than a Raptor.

Pros:
-incorporated the city skyline.
-colours are still red/black.
-not too severe of a rebrand (...can be a Con too)

Cons:
-do not see it fashionably appealing.
-does not seem too intimidating. (the original Raps logo looks MEAN and unfriendly)

I personally think this logo would not be approved by the fans.
Give it a more fearsome kinda look and we might be onto something.

Err.. I love how you incorporated the skyline.. But the logo itself just reminds me of a disease called Harlequin type ichthyosis.. Maybe its just because I'm studying medicine but it looks disturbing to me because it looks like a baby raptor with a problem

Good work on a Raptors logo rebrand. It's hard-as-hell to create a new logo for the Raptors. I love the "Bags under the eyes because we can only take so much losing" part lol.

The skyline is a nifty idea, but I think a Raptor needs a side profile to showcase its unique features.

To be honest, my first reaction to the logo was that it looks an awful lot like the original Red Ranger's helmet. Ah my childhood, how I miss thee.

Nice thread. Also, those 3-d banners on the sidelines needs to go. I dunno what the hell they were attempting with that one

I am searching for the history of our jerseys, but I haven't found it yet. Stumbled across this though.
