Are the Raptors a team of destiny?

Call me nuts, but I think the Raptors are a team of destiny this season. They probably won't win the title, but an ECF appearance is not out of the question.

Destined to lose to the Miami Heat in the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs, yes.

I haven't really looked at how the brackets shape up. If we get a beatable opponent in the first round, are we likely to get Miami or Indiana in the second?

There are no 'teams of destiny' in the NBA, that's why the teams with the best talent win the title every season. So no, we're not beating those 2 stacked teams in the eastern playoffs.

As long as we finish in the top 6 we will definitely draw a beatable team in the 1st round. Win that and we definitely play either Indiana or Miami in round 2.

You are guaranteed to get either Miami or Indiana in the 2nd round no matter what seed the Raptors are barring some epic collapse by the Pacers or Heat

2nd round, 1st team plays winner of 4,5, 2nd team plays winner of 3,6
So, if we're 3rd, and Miami is 2nd, then yes, but If Miami finishes ahead of Indiani, and we finish 3rd, then we play Indiana in the 2nd round.

This is what happens when you don't have a good team for a lonnng time

Do you believe in destiny?
I believe in accepting reality, and the reality is that we're probably not going past the second round. Not that it's impossible; it's professional sports, and anything can happen, but I'll just be happy if we gave Indy or Miami a well-fought series and the league started to take us seriously again.
This is a very likeable team that seems to have finally changed its culture. They're probably a little too inexperienced to make a run in the playoffs right now, but the experience will be invaluable.

Yeah, you're right, I didn't really think it through. Regardless, team of destiny, so they beat both.

We are playing out of this world right now. Too much hype isn't good for this team. We have still a long way to go.

I don't mind a second round exit, and then see what MU will do next.

What a dumb question. Of course we will get Miami or Indiana in the 2nd round. Unless you think Miami or Indy will lose in the first round.
