Sterling banned for life from the NBA (P. 40)

Donald Sterling at it again the slum landlord who own the Clippers
"It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?" (3:30)
-- "You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that ... and not to bring them to my games."
This is Silver’s first great task. He’ll have to balance the interests of a small team-owning few versus the respect of hundreds of millions. This, like Donald Sterling, is a no-brainer.

Introducing your 2015 LA Black Skins!

Holy **** I just listened to the whole thing. This is going to overshadow the LAC/GSW series once it goes viral.
This is going to end up defining how much power Silver has over the owners (his bosses), Baylor must feel so vindicated. This guy has the mentality of a plantation owner and I tend to give the benefit of the doubt. **** him.

Major League Baseball banned Marge Schott in the 90's for her racism. The NBA would be prudent to follow that precedent and do the same to Sterling.

Damn he said " Don't Bring Black People To My Games, Including Magic Johnson!"

This guy is a joke and needs to pay for his words.

I don't think Silver alone has the jurisdiction to take the team from him, the other owners have to stand united behind him I'd imagine and it has to be a collective effort but I don't know the particulars surrounding the legal aspect of this all.

The NBA should make an example of this fool, and this type of classist, racist attitude that divides people...does he even understand that he has african american players on his team?...This is what happens when you feel your above the world, damn shame for the people who have to see this guy everyday and work with him

Maybe I'm looking too deep into this, but not sure why you had to include "Silver's NBA" in the title, implying as if this is somehow his fault. Sterling was a racist long before Silver got the keys to the car, a known racist.

Damn, it's real. At first, I thought it was satire

Well proves that just because you f*** a girl, doesn't mean you aren't racist. I would have assumed that since he's Jewish, he would be more understanding of racism because of the history of discrimination of Jews, but I guess not.
The most troubling thing is that he points out that his friends point to him that his girlfriend has black friends, so his racism isn't just him. There are quite a lot of social circles out there that are racist, and people seem to discount racism because they haven't been exposed to them yet.
If I were the Clippers, I'd just walk out and quit the games out of self-respect.

Silver is the commissioner and this isn't a new problem with Sterling and with 80% plus players black in the NBA he needs to take firm and decisive action something his predecessor was loath to do.
Silver seems to be on the bully pulpit on major changes to the NBA to put his stamp on it. Now is a true test of leadership see how he does.

I like how a gold digging woman who is ?dating? a racist biggot against her own race comes across as a relative genius in that conversation.

Sterling reminds me of the old ring leader in American History X.
Disgusting.
