After Wiggins Who is the Best SF in the Draft

Post#1 » by wfnshow316 » Thu May 22, 2014 7:23 pm

After Wiggins Who is the Best SF in the Draft? On draftExpress they have Rodney Hood from Duke going 15 - is he the next best SF. Reason I ask is because it's possible to move up in this draft and if SF is who you are looking for it seems likely you could get him at 10, 13 or 15 (and those teams would probably trade back for the right price). Or would you target Stauskis as our top prospect - three point specialist of the bench (although I think that Ross is a better fit there)

Jabari is more a SF in my eyes. He can play a hybrid PF like Carmelo and Lebron, but his natural position is a Paul Pierce like SF.

I actually don't like Parker for that reason - tweener - he might prove me wrong but he isn't a good fit at SF IMO
Same with Doug McDermott - is he a PF in the Dirk mould or a slow SF. Iffy to me

If Parker is an PF then Wiggins is an SG.

agree with Choker here - the biggest difference - Wiggins can definitely play and defend the 2 I'm not sure Parker can defend and play the 3

Jabari has the type of game that will age really well, from a scoring perspective at least. And with the right coach and system, he can be a competent defender at least, he has the BBIQ for it. Guys who can score like him are hard to come by. I'd take him at SF any day. Would prefer Wiggins, but wouldn't cry taking Jabari.

Wiggins is more of a SG in my eyes, but he can obviously become a SF with some added strength. That versatility is the main reason I prefer him to Parker, who at the moment won't be able to guard either forward position effectively. Parker at PF is a disaster waiting to happen. His teams will give up 130 PPG if they plan on using him in that role.

Jabari is a small forward who could play the 4 for stretches but he would get eaten alive on defense.

Parker is a SF, no doubt about that. Makes the fact that he played the 5 spot for stretches at Duke even more insane.

Wiggins is a pure 3. He doesn't have the handle to be a 2.

Parker is a hybrid btwn Melo and Pierce (in style, not caliber). He's going to guard 3s at the next level.

Parker is a 3.

Parker is the best SF in the draft right now. Wiggins second, and probably TJ Warren 3rd.

The new breed of SF/PF that has an inside/outside game is the present and future of the NBA. Lebron, Carmelo/Joe Johnson/Paul George and even Durant to some extent fit into this category, this is a grwinv trend in the NBA with teams specifically looking for that hybrid player.

What? Parker obviously. And he's not a PF.

To be fair to him, how many 19 year old wings have any sort of developed ball handling game? Look at how much Derozan's ball handling has improved since he was that age.

Wiggins is a true swingman who should be able to play both wing spots dependant on matchups. Much like young VC and Paul Pierce did. Paul George as a more recent example.
