Here's the reason I've had the Bulls pegged to finish #1 in the East

17 points and 5 boards on 5/9 (3/5) shooting

The guy is a straight-up baller and not your typical rookie. There's a reason he's been the best player in Europe for a few years, and now he's coming off the bench for Chicago. Easily the best front court in the league with Noah-Gasol-Gibson-Mirotic

Wanted to post about Mirotic myself, got beaten by the OP. That beard suits him, reminds me of Peja.

he's going to be top 3 in the ROY discussion, and quite possibly win it (though Parker is the early favorite).

question - if he was drafted 23rd overall, how were the Bulls able to sign him to a $16.6 million, 3 year contract?

I believe the clock started ticking on his rookie contract as soon as he got drafted, which was a few years ago.

Reminds me of Garbajosa.

All the highlights showed they were guarding him with Foye and Affolo. Both of them are undersized to defend Kobe.

Lakers make the playoffs this year (if reasonably healthy)

Nash
Kobe
Wesly
Boozer
Hill

bench: Randle, Young (or Wesly), Lin, Davis

That's not as bad a team as ppl think. 3 former All-stars and 2 HOF.

If the bar for making the playoffs in the west is close to 50 wins, the lakers' playoff prospects don't look good.

I wish we had an impact rookie that could break the rotation.

The lakers would be easily top 6 in the East. Possibly top 4. They have good talent.

As it stands now, though, in the West they just don't have enough talent in peak capacity to sneak into the top 7. They'll be lucky to get 8th, which is their ceiling IMO.

Lakers has no defense. I am not sure they would be a play-off team even in the east.

That Mirotic. :o Pounding his chest during preseason, wish Bargnani had that passion. He's going to be a goood. Damn

Question is; can he match-up with our Psycho-3?

I've watched all 3 games last night and every team is playing their rookies reasonable minutes, except for us
Maybe because we have to cut 2 players, Casey is holding back, but Bruno/Bebe should get some minutes in the next few games, it's just absurd

Derrick Rose does not get the benefit of the doubt. He has to prove he can play an entire season and playoffs healthy. Fool me once...
