New Milestone: Fastest 20 wins in Raptors history

Post#1 » by Rhettmatic » Thu Dec 18, 2014 6:30 pm

Neat graphic here showing how long it took in previous seasons for the Raptors to reach 20 wins. 1995 looks pretty sad until you realize what happened in '97:

To reach 50 wins, the Raptors would have to go 30-26 the rest of the season. What do you see as realistic now?

I think it was T&S, but I heard the quickest was 36 games. Quite impressive in team history context.

Crazy that our best record before this was 20-16. We didn't just set a new record, we shattered it.

I was sure this team would win 50, but they're just making it seem too easy

If the Raptors just play .500 ball the rest of the season, they will match last years record win total of 48.

After the road trip of death I think we can get a better picture of where this team can finish.

Well, if you extrapolate our entire record since the Rudy Gay trade, it's more like on pace for 58 wins. Which is fine. It would be nice to match or improve our winning records on the road and against the WC last year.

Before the season started I said that we have a 50 win team on our hands. I predicted a record of 51-31 with the 3rd seed in the East. Now I can see us winning up to 56 games this year and having the 1st or 2nd seed in the East.

Who would have thought that Toronto, Washington and Atlanta would be the top 3 teams in the East. Washington and Toronto were pegged at the 3rd-4th seed behind Cleveland and Chicago before the season started and Atlanta would be a 6th-7th seed.

-Going to take some lumps on the upcoming road trip, hopefully DD back after Christmas
-Fun Fact: Only 24 of remaining 56 games are against teams with current .500 records or better

54-28 is my current over/under...

I said Chicago or Cleveland or both would end up below us this season. People mocked me. They laughed at me.
When this happens I expect a cookie from all of you.

Edit: to be fair I also said if we get a decent back-up C behind Val we would win 60+ games. I still think this is true.
