People will likely go too far both ways in reaction to something like this. It does speak to him likely always being a somewhat inefficient scorer, especially when refs aren't bailing him out. It also shows that he probably can't ever be a part of a Spurs/Hawks style of team given that he doesn't capitalize on great looks at a high enough clip and likes taking tough shots that he makes at a comparable rate as good ones.

Having said that, as long as he keeps moving the ball and learns to feed the post more, maybe develop his passing game on the PnR, his weird scoring style can still have a place on a winning team. Probably not an actual championship one though.

meh, this isn't a big thing, many players have said they think its harder to hit a wide open shot cause there is more pressure knowing there is no reason to miss

If it weren't for wide open shots Demar would have a very high fg%, oponents need to defend him more in order for this team to be more successful.

DeMar is progressing really well, not wanting to take open shots is very Kobe-like. Its only a matter of time until he evolves into DeKobe DeBryant.
