I really don't understand what happened to this guy. It's almost like he achieved his goal with the all-star team selection, and he decided to take the rest of the season off. Not only is he being extremely timid on offence, but he is also playing terrible D. wth happened to him?

It's not his contract year anymore

he stopped being the mvp of the league, not many 6 foot nothing 200 point point gaurds can sustain mvp level seasons. He is who he is, a 17 7 and 5 point gaurd and hes damn good.

What happen his fat ego got in the way when he was voted as a asg starter...

Hard to believe I had him as my MVP of the league at one point early in the season. Oh how the mighty have fallen...

I think his ego and weight have a lot to do with it.

Why do you think he's been on a bunch of teams, they all knew he was nothing special, except our GM who makes 0 trades at deadline and drafted a 2nd round prospect at 20.

a frauds are the worst kind of fraud.

Even though he fell off for a bit, I can see hes really competeing right now, had some drives to the rim tonight. Havent seen much of that recently, I believe we will see a different lowry in the playoffs

Trying to play too much like Derozan with the hero mentality and ill-advised shots.

He needs to be a playmaker again, and stop always playing buddy-ball with Derozan while ignoring the rest of the team.

Give the guy a break. He played at MVP level for 3-4 months. Hes an athlete not a machine. He was phenomenal in last years playoffs. Maybe he is a little tired an resting while still can before playoffs begin.

Don't understand some of the comments being made here. He was playing at his absolute best than he ever had in his entire career AFTER he got his contract. He was playing like complete **** well BEFORE he was nominated as a starter. His complete lackluster play leading up to the all star game was jeopardizing his chances of even being nominated as one.

If there's one thing that's unanimous on this board, it's that he's stopped playing like an MVP after that Portland game.

In that Portland game he hurt his shooting hand.

People are saying that he's completely changed his approach to the game. Has he really?

The difference between that Kyle Lowry and the imposter we're starting at point guard right now is that he's making his shots. As far as I'm concerned he's still playing the exact same way he was before. Converting on baskets sure has a funny way of changing perspectives and formulating narratives.

Something is wrong with Kyle Lowry physically. I don't know what it is, but these other reasons people are conjuring up in this thread are just really silly.

It's hard to evaluate players in the system this team runs. Lowry was making ridiculous shots consistently for the first half of the season, now he's missing them. Maybe it's his fault for not facilitating the offence better, but this is largely how the team plays.

There's no effort to get good shots for anyone, no ball movement, stupid gambling defensively by everyone. This team's system is complete garbage.

Lowry was masking a lot of this with his heroics, and now that he's come back down to earth he and everyone else on the team look pretty bad.

He looks gassed to be honest. Not as tenacious. He will pull through.

Simply put, he plays a style that is hard on the body and not really sustainable for a full season.

Back is sore from carrying the teaam in the 1H of the year.
