Lowry

Lowry has been awful since a little before the all-star break. How long are we gonna give this guy a pass and ignore the elephant in the room? Dude has been playing like a bottom 15 starting pg in the league. low assists, poor FG%, and high turnovers. What could possibly be the reason? Rest doesn't even seem to help him.

He's replaced Derozan as the most frustrating player on the team. I still can't wrap my head around how much he's fallen off (from MVP-level to barely-worthy-of-an-NBA-roster-spot). At this point, I really don't expect him to be able to just turn it on for the playoffs.

Can we not just wait a couple more days and see how lowry actually does smh.

The bigger concern i have going into the playoffs is Casey, Ross, Vasquez and JJ's lack of playing time....which falls back to casey.

he had that triple double against the Pacers which could've been a turning point but then got injured the next game against Minnesota

I think it's possible that he'll figure it out, but we are heading into the playoffs and kind of need a lot of stuff to go right for us. Lowry has to get back to a good level within a week. Amir needs to get back to a good level, and has to shake off the rust, and is playing on an injured ankle. Derozan's going to have been coming off a couple days off, and won't have played much with Amir and Lowry prior to going into the playoffs. Sure would have been nice if we'd had everyone back healthy and playing at a high level together for the last 10 games going into the playoffs. Been few and far between stretches this season when everyone played healthy together at the same time. But, it's still pausable things turn out alright. Pacers stumbled into the playoffs last year and made it to the ecf's.

Lowry has been awful more than good this year. You take out Dec and his play has below the average starting PG. Most worrying Is that his outside shooting has been off all season.

Before his injury he actually toned down his shooting and was focusing on play making. We can't afford nights like tonight where he does 4-18 as he tries to shooting his way into games. He really should let DD/Lou do the chucking and focus on playmaking, defense and going to the basket. If he tries hero ball stuff from last year it will be quick series.

He'd just started playing really well again before getting hurt.

People need to stop with the injury narrative. Both Derozan and Lowry were playing like crap long before they got injured.

I honestly think one of our goals tonight (last three, but especially tonight with no DeMar) was for Lowry to keep shooting until he hit any kind of rhythm from outside. Which he finally did after a really rough start. His rebounding, energy, and team D is there, passing OK with some good bursts, drive game solid, but we are much better if his shot is falling. I think we'll see much more normal shot selection and decision making from him come the weekend.

100% agreed.

Last nights game was definitely an experiment.

Everything is there but the shot. People seem to be dismissing his back-to-back game tying drives.

He'll be ok.

Being a sports fan in Toronto is literally the WORST decision you can ever make in life.

Well he has been generally garbage all season except probably a month or so prior to the All-star game. My guess is he decided to turn it up that time just so he could be voted into the all-star game.

Career journyman, turns it up for <12months @ age 28. made an ASG in the east. Other then that, done nothing in his entire career to warrant the praise he gets around here.

How lowry is playing now is closer to the real lowry then the hot start for the ASG push. He was just a man on a mission, and we can see how that turned out (he literally burned his body out pushing for the ASG spot)

LOL @ people saying the biggest concern is GV / Ross ect..

This team was a contender with lowry playing well, and a sub.500 team with him playing poorly.

We need lowry playing well, doesnt matter what the rest of the team does, if he sucks vs John Wall, its over.

These last couple of games don't mean much except for seeding and I think at this point the team is content on facing either of Milwaukee or Washington. It makes sense to try to get Lowry going now because his shooting will have to be a on a very short leash if it's not falling in the playoffs.

Well stated. Yesterday was experimenting. Really felt like if we win that's great but we need to work some things before the playoffs. I know Lou said he wanted to be on a 50 win team so it might of mattered to him and a few others but this was all about tightening the rotations, getting TRoss / Patterson / Lowry going, tightening up the D. This weekend things should go back to normal.

You realize Wall isn't playing that great either? They will basically wash each other out. If we are ahead in the other positions we should be fine.
