Well he did have his second good game as a Raptor yesterday so I think he deserves it.

Id let him walk/trade him.
Dude is way too inconsistent. There is no reason to believe he wants to improve as a basketball player. Looked good last night though.

Coulda been a 20 million dollar player in the new CBA now though I would hesitate to sign him for 8 mil a year. Dude made his own bed. Look at DMC, dude worked his ass off to become what he is today and got rewarded for it. Ross already had all the physical tools he was just too busy banging Instagram girls and playing 2k.

I wouldnt extend him. Wait and see what the market dictates come the summer or trade him, unless you can get him at a really cheap extention. I personally I feel that is what masai is thinking.

4 years/ 38 mil is my guess/hope. 8/9/10/11
We can move guys if we entice a free agent no problem, no real benefit in having cap space for us next offseason.

It's going to be something crazy like 4 years 48 million. I just have this feeling. :(

There was another quote from him saying it would be an "honour" to get an extension from us despite the chance of more $ next year in the new nba.

I predict 3 years 23 million with 3rd year player option but remember that a contract signed on Nov 2nd can be traded after Feb. 2nd.

Yeah, I'm sure the Raptors are considering an extension now merely because of last night's game and it has nothing to do with the fact that the deadline is 2 days away.

Lou also wanted an extension, Masai then let him walk despite being the 6moty. Could happen to Ross too

Implications:
Extension -
Controlled cost
Trade asset
Conceding the race for Durant

No extension -
A big year could bring a huge expense
Run the risk of not deciding how much you want to pay him
More flexibility (assuming his new salary is higher than his cap hold, which isn't a certainty)

why would you want ross to make 20 mill a year? people act like hard work is the only thing that ever holds any player back from being a max player... theres a reason why the league is filled with role players and why only a select few people get max contracts... ross has a lot of physical tools, but his talent level has never been elite... doesnt have handles, doesnt have great court vision or basketball iq... his strengths as a player are his speed, vertical, quickness, and shooting ability... and weve seen time and time and time again that none of those things necessarily means a player is gonna be a star. but it doesnt mean he doesnt have value in the league or a role on the team either... if you can sign ross to a relatively cheap extension, you do it hands down... you cant just load a team with a bunch of 10-15 million dollar players... thats not possible... but for what ross brings to the table, hes definitely a valuable asset to have on a team... jr smith is making 5 mill a year... and hes a notorious headcase... but he brings some of the same skills to the table as ross... jj redick makes about 7 mill a year... if you can get ross locked up for around 8 mill, especially with the rising cap, idk why people think thats a horrible idea... who else do you wanna sign as a backup guard for that price that brings the same skillset as he does?
