Is demar derozan a relic?

This has nothing to do with his stats or production. I am purely speaking based on his style of play. It seems that his mid range game, foot work, bulldozing style of slashing, post up fadeaways are something we haven't seen from the 2 guard position since prime dwayne wade or kobe bryant. Do you think this style dies after derozan exits the league? he in my opinion will be the last remaining player to adopt this style.
The new generation will be more along the lines of Stephen curry and klay who are phenomenal talents and more representative of what teams are trying to accomplish with the efficient 3 point shot.

Demar would be a superstar in the 1970s

With a more consistent 3 he will be nearly unstoppable on offence, he would drive 24/7 on close outs, then on doubles or triples he would eat defenses alive by passing to open man. Thats the next step, including becoming a lockdown defender.

When I read the title I immediately thought of this classic line:
And I agree his style is more old school than many players, but I think it is a mistake to say Curry doesn't have an old school approach to the game. Watch GSW pregame stuff and you will see Curry is the first on the court by a long shot doing ball handling exercises and drills for ages.

You don't need to be a 3 point shooter to be an efficient scorer. But being a 2 point shooter means you better be scoring on a higher percentage of your field goals for a true shooting percentage of 56% or more. Demar's .545 this year is a marked improvement over most years, but it's still poor when placed against the likes of Dwyane Wade. Wade from 2005 to 2014 was regularily above that 56% mark.
The midrange game - the true midrange game used by Kobe, Jordan, Tony Parker, Wade etc, will never die because it'll always be the most unguardable thing in basketball. Steph Curry is a freak of nature and we'll probably not for many decades see another player whose "midrange game" applies to 3 point range.

I don't get the similarities at all.

I guess Demar wears a toque sometimes & leaves a little scruff on his face.

I think this is a tremendous misreading of the current situation.
The Warriors can do what they do because they have two of the best three point shooters in NBA history in their starting backcourt.
Also, as teams adjust to new offenses, they are beginning to focus on running shooters of the three point line and defending the rim.
Guess what part of the floor that opens up?

Demar is his own kind of player due to lack of a good long range jumper.
That drive to the basket, is one of the best in the NBA now.
He scores through ridiculous amounts of contact, with or without the call.
A key difference in Demars game is the lack of being rushed and his footwork. 10 seconds on the clock, about 10 feet from the basket, no real shot, would have been a fade, he fakes the opponent, spins into the basket for a bank, or with his athleticism, he can get near a layup. He also uses that same fake, leaner into the basket to find open players when the rim protector hedges to help the man Demar faked off the ball, who are open for either a three, or an easy score around the basket.
The IQ has improved immensely. He plays to his strengths, along with new skills such as huge improvements in the ball handling, in tandem with now trusting Jonas, which has worked really well.
I wonder if anyone (VVV if you're reading, you are the best at this), can find the PPP in a PnR between Jonas and Val, or the efficiency on assists from Demar to Jonas. I expect it to be really high using the eyeball test, but the frequency and usage to be really low.
