In his podcast with David Thorpe, he mentioned that the Rockets offered Dwight Howard for JV and the Raptors turned it down. He also went on a long rant during his podcast with Marc Stein about how the Raptors really had no moves to make given the lack of talent on the trade market.

What isn;t even stated is that to make this work under the cap, the Raptors would have had to throw in a huge amount of additional salary (not just Scola and JJ, but real value talent like Patterson, or even DeRozan). So the trade would have to have been ridiculously one-sided. Forget the rental part, or even the talent comparison between JV and Dwight which is fair to argue, but the fan base would have been outraged at the total package.

Can't believe Morey thought we would give away JV for Dwight lol. Maybe if this was 2011, I'd have considered it. But that time has passed.
