Now compare that with Demar's effort in that same sequence. Gets trapped on screens almost all the time.

What are the odds of re-signing all 3 of Lowry, Ibaka and Tucker?

Not to mention DeMar has to expend much more energy on offense than Tucker, and plays 10-12 more minutes a game.

Completely suffocated George. He's tenacious as hell. It's a mindset of trying to make the other guy as miserable as possible. It's such a rare skill in today's league. He's definitely going to get paid especially if we make a deep run.

Trading away JV and Carroll would improve those odds.

Would have to move CoJo, Carroll and likely JV if we want to keep Ibaka, Lowry and Tucker. Patterson would also be tough to re-sign unless he's willing to take a discount.

Most of that is just effort. It's rare to see a man so tenacious on defense.

He is an absolute must keep. I want to keep him, Kyle, pat and serge lol

PG, Kawhi, or Butler (similar positional players) don't seem to have problems getting stuck on screens continuously. They're also expected to play loads of minutes and produce lots of points. Why are you apologising for DeMar's weaknesses? why don't you just call it for what it is instead of playing the victim card every time reasonable posters like me or Boogie points it out.

Would MLSE be willing to even resign Lowry, Ibaka, Tucker, and Patterson unless this was a Championship season? I doubt it.

Absolutely agree!

Defense is heavily based on effort. Yes, physical measurements and a basketball IQ factor in.

Not putting in 100% effort on every play should result in your bum being seated here:

1) Fronts him just enough to dissuade the pass knowing how hard the over the top pass would be to make.

2) Sees the play develop and cuts right through economically knowing that the screener would have to move substantially to clip him.

3) Catches back up, spins off a screen narrowly avoiding it.

4) Crowds George with that trademark slow, intimidating step by step approach to him while in his stance.

6) Somehow is still able to move his feet well enough to back pedal against an athlete of Paul George's caliber and avoids a foul.
7) Still puts forth an impressive shot contest despite all the back pedaling.

That's just awesome. You can literally sense Paul George's frustration with him as the play develops. Like a fly he can't shake.

Couldnt stop laughing watching Tucker's old school D.

His defensive instincts are sublime.

How's Ross doing in Orlando? Haven't checked on him in a while.
