Predictions for 2017-2018 NBA season

Post#1 » by rapcity10 » Fri Aug 4, 2017 6:04 pm

The offseason is practically just about wrapped up, there is still uncertainty with the Melo and Irving situations, but as of right now what are your predictions for the following categories:

MVP: Lebron James
MIP: Andrew Wiggins
Sixth Man: Jamal Crawford
Breakthrough Player: Andrew Wiggins (Think he's going to have a monster year)
Most disappointing Team: SPURS (Think they finish between 5-6 in the West, and finally have the record of 50 Win Seasons snapped)
Most Surprising Team: Lakers (Think there going to be better than what people expect)
Coach of the Year: Brad Stevens
Executive of the Year: Sam Presti
Final Four East: Bucks, Wizards, Celtics, Cavs
Final Four West: Thunder, Warriors, T Wolves, Rockets
ECF: WIZARDS VS CAVS
WCF: WARRIORS VS ROCKETS
Finals: ROCKETS VS CAVS
Champions: HOUSTON ROCKETS

*Just trying to be bold with the Finals matchup, and winner, I know its highly likely Warriors are there and they repeat*

You have to assume at some point Harden will win the MVP. Might as well think it's this year.

The tweets about how nice a team would be with 3 MVP winners like Harden, Westbrook and KD can then commence.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

MVP: Lebron James
MIP: Otto Porter
Sixth Man: Frank Kaminsky
Breakthrough Players: Devin Booker / DeAngelo Russell / Andrew Wiggins / Kristaps Porzingas / Joel Embiid / Otto Porter
Rookie of the Year: Ben Simmons
Defensive Player of the Year: Anthony Davis

Most disappointing Team: Milwaukee Bucks - Some have them as high as 3. I think Jabari Parker will actually make them worse with his offensive approach and that they'll take only a baby step forward and finish no higher than 6. I also think Giannis 3 ball won't yet be the weapon he thinks it will be. He'll take more attempts but his % will end up below 31%

Most Surprising Team: Brooklyn Nets. I think they don't end up at the worst team in the league this year.

Coach of the Year: Tom Thibodeau
Executive of the Year: Daryl Morey

Final Four East: Raptors, Wizards, Celtics, Cavs
Final Four West: T-Wolves, Warriors, Spurs, Rockets

ECF: RAPTORS VS CAVS
WCF: WARRIORS VS ROCKETS
Finals: WARRIORS VS CAVS
Champions: WARRIORS

Joel Embiid is gonna have a monster year and be an all-star if he stays healthy. 24 and 10 with 3 APG and 3 BPG.

Both Nurkic and Jokic will have big seasons now that they're not eating into each other's minutes and touches.

Agree. Big key is staying healthy for him. If he is don't see why he can't be one of the most dominant players in the game. Not big men but players in general, he's a special talent. I think Myles Turner has a chance to have a very good season as well, he's gonna be the focal point of that offence, will be fun following him this year too.
