Patterson shot 37% from 3 last year, which is very good. It's just that he was terrible at shooting 3's in key junctures of the game.

37% isn't very good. It's just serviceable. And that's keeping in mind that 70% of his shots were open/wide-open.

37% is very solid for a 4 man but it is not outstanding or anything. You are correct he misses his key ones but just as bad is that he would have the random 3/3, 4/5 kinda nights once in every 4 or 5 games to boost his percentage. On those night it was great but Patterson really is overrated as a stretch 4 that can be relied on. His defense will be missed much more then his spotting shooting to me.

If you don't think 37% is very good, then you're likely not going to like C.J. Miles either. His career 3PT% is 36% and he fell below 37% in 2 of his past 3 seasons. The only time in his 12-year career that he shot above 40% from the 3 was last season @41% and if you've learned anything about the Carroll debacle, don't count on a career best season to be repeated. Treat it as an anomaly.

3 pt % doesn't tell the whole story. Patterson shooting 37% on wide open 3's is not the same as somebody like Carmelo who is being guarded.

No, and I think he's overhyped by Realgm (big surprise ) 37% is good for 75th in the NBA among qualified players, hardly elite territory.
