For what it's worth, Jacob&Co is worth every last penny, but I understand that it still requires a lot of pennies...
Morton's, House of Chan and as @ontnut mentioned in his response, Bar Isabel.
If I had to pick for a family, Parts&Labour (P&L) and order their Cote de Boeuf. If some don't want that, the burger is also one of the tops in the city!
You can do much better than The Keg for sure. If you don't spend heavily on wine, most places become much more affordable.

I do love Jacob's!

Thanks very much for your steak suggestions, I'll be checking at least one of them out (and more of the big list).

That is a great restaurant list, thank-you for sharing.

Can you recommend a steakhouse between The Keg (which never disappoints or blows you away) and Jacobs/Harbour 60 (which never leave you with any money)?

We're leaving Owen Sound for a week so my son can do a basketball camp in the city, so there will be lots of meals to try out many on your list.

Barberian. Carmens. I don't remember how expensive STK wa since I didn't pay.

I think it might be a hache style one, but Union72 on Ossington had a great, very reasonably priced steak last time I went there.

Morton's in Yorkville is a good option. A bit cheaper than Jacob's but still quite good.

That said, Jacob's is my favourite steakhouse in the city.

I'm surprised it took so long for someone to mention Real Jerk. Food is great at both locations. Carlaw location has the whole karaoke bar thing in it's favor while the Kingston Road location is a pleasant walk away from the beach.

I am a vegan and I love checking out all of the various vegan food options are the city, we have some of the best vegan restaurants in the game.

I love Hogtown Vegan and I would strongly suggest that everyone goes there. Even if you are not vegan, I promise you that you will love their food. Their soy wings are out of this world.

What I tend to do is just park somewhere and take transit or walk around wherever I need to go. One spot I normally park at is Yonge/St.Clair apartment buildings, they never check outdoor parking at this building apparently. Then I just take the subway wherever.

Free parking is the best. A natural high lol.

As to Pizza, Dominoes is only good if its pepperoni to cover up that horrible crust. For chains I like Nova and Mama's. As a raised west coaster Panago has fallen hard. Used to love it as a kid. For breakfast Lady Marmalade is mighty tasty. Blunts seems like waste of dope. Assuming meant like the cigar sized ones. It's fun but that money gets burnt all up. Rizzla king sized should suffice I'm thinking.

you know I used to see blunt papers sold often back in the day. Would walk down Yonge street from bloor, listening to Blackstar or K-OS on my CD walkman, smoking a nice fatty. Some good times in Toronto for sure... been kinda outta that scene since I'm adulting now though. I hear you can just walk into a dispensary and just buy some nowadays. Is it easy to get blunts though?

Btw best kept secret for chinese food is Shanghai Dim Sum in Richmond Hill, Bayview & Highway 7 area. They have the best and cheapest soup filled dumplings - first four is 99 cents...its ridiculous and the other food is so good. Its sometimes so packed though

You picked the worst time to become an adult lol, its literally the golden age of buying fire right now. Walk into any dispensary take 5 mins to sign up and boom your in.

The blunts are a problem tho unfortunately, prices keep rising and some corner stores even stopped selling them completely.

That being said, backwoods till im 6 feet loool

ps. if anyones uncle is the plug PM me

Hasty market at yonge and church sell backwoods and other blunt papers under the table. Just ask the guy when no one else is in the store.

YO FAM.

thanks for your suggestion eh. I got curious and bought a pack of backwoods (only had whiskey flavour) and rolled up a nice fatty this weekend. I visited toronto this weekend so I thought why not listen to your suggestions.

10/10 would try again :D

Outside of the city, near the airport, Zoro's is a good steak house. Old school feel with good food and respectable wine portions.

Not a high end place but zet's is another solid late night option out by that side of things. Watch some planes and hang.

I don't generally go out and drink beer, but I know Boston pizza has a $7.50 deal on 32oz schooners (coors light, bud, canadian) I think on Tuesdays. That's a pretty good deal.

Not sure how updated this list is, but you can check drink deals here:

Barberian's is pretty darn good, if kind of old school interior, but cheaper than Jacob's and always good value.
It's not downtown, but the Octagon is a (very old) stand by.
