Ainge was waiting for the time to strike. While not trading Jason Tatum for Pg/Butler is dumb, getting rid of Thomas isn't. Kyrie is 25 and fits with what they're trying to do.

I'm not sure the Cavs want to either. They might plan to let him walk if LeBron leaves. Trade is one year of IT, Crowder and most likely a top5 or higher pick next year. IT is going to get freezed out of free agency unless LeBron stays in Cleveland.
